Thomas Cook do not have inflight entertainment on their short haul flights, or rent PSP's any longer. You will have to amuse yourselves I'm afaid.
Thanks Sunaddict
I for one purchase a service and pay for it and expect it.I would bet if the rule was you could get a full refund after a 3hr delay they would pull their socks up,tour operators for too long have hidden behind small print and treated customers like rubbish.
But, Qatarman, are you prepared to pay the price that would need to be charged for that sort of service? The indications are that most people aren't. I used to regularly use BA on their Edinburgh/Gatwick and Edinburgh/Birmingham routes - yes, it was more expensive than the likes of Easyjet but the service was so much better and even though I always had a non-transferable ticket, in practice they would put me on another flight as long as there was room and went out of their way to help me when things went wrong. But all the indicators suggest that the majority of passengers preferred if not the no-frills service, then the cheaper prices of the likes of Easyjet and once BA tried to compete with them on price then the level of service dropped accordingly and there is now little to tell the difference between them in either price or service.
We the consumers are constantly buying on the lowest possible price, so airlines are now tailoring their service to what they think we'll pay. In the end you get what you pay for and frankly we aren't paying enough to get the sort of service we say want. We can either have cheap fares or decent service where airlines keep planes standing empty around the country to fill the gaps in their schedules when planes go 'tech' or delayed - but we can't have both. If we pay Primark prices we can't expect Prada quality.

Hi - can you tell me what type of plane I am on and the seat pitch, travelling Glasgow/Sanford 30.09.11 TCX246 returning 14.10.11 TCX247? I have just made a 'dummy booking' which, under "important information" seemed to show 29" seat pitch for the return flight. If this is the case do you know if it is possible to book the old premium seats for extra legroom on the return flight?
flying on TCX 172 on 27 Aug, the flight is listed as 10 hours+, can you confirm that this is direct and no stop offs anywhere?
Cheers
Welcome onboard

I'm mobile at the moment so I'll confirm aircraft type in the morning when I'm home. GLA-SFB-GLA (TCX246/7) are operated by Airbus A330-200 outbound / and possibly the -300 inbound. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). There are no 'premium' seats on the A330-300.

outbound is on a330-200 with standard 33" seat pitch
inbound is on a330-200 again...but...one of the ones with 29".
You can book PREM seats for return, if they allow you to.
We have several hours to drive after arrival at Glasgow so I'm really not looking forward to 29" seat pitch. I called TC this morning and they say the whole flight is 29" so no option of increased legroom seats.

Can you tell me what aircraft will operate the flight from London Gatwick to Bourgas on Monday 12th September. I believe teh flight number is TCX 1052.
Cheers
LGW-BOJ-LGW (TCX1052/3) is showing as a Boeing 757-200. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

The price we pay is what the tour companies quote i dont make those prices however for what i pay i expect a service which is sadly missing with tour companies once they have your money.I did not book a Thomas Cook holiday or Thomas Cook flight but was moved onto that flight by Thomson Holidays consolidating due to the lack of bookings for Sharm El Sheik. When i requested to change as i did not wish to fly Thomas Cook Airlines i was told i could but it would cost me 600pounds more (customer service we have your money!!!!!).
As for would i personally be prepared to pay extra i normally if available upgrade to Premium Economy so yes i would but not everyone can as you say.I would also pay extra for 32in legroom on flights over 2hrs but again not everyone can.All i am saying if anyone pays for a service they should expect it not every summer season have to endure long delays at airports because Tour Companies over tax their fleet when they want to be on their holiday.
But when you fly Thomson, you never have anything good to say about them.
Yes when I get what I pay for same as everyone should.who rang your bell anyway
Your always moaning and berating Thomson, for extremely minor things and when your not it seems your now having a go at Thomas Cook now.
Are you one of these peoples who's glass is always half empty? I'm normally quite happy to keep the peace but being a member for the last 2-3 years I have never read one positive thing out of your keyboard, it grates after a while.

That's flying out soon.
My girlfriend and I are flying out to Holguing, Gatwick- flight no tcx 134
Next month sept 13th for 2 weeks at the plays .
Questions:
If we get to the airport early enough to check in, can we request bulkhead seats?
I believe these have no seats in front of them?
Is this a reasonable request?
Also is the legroom still 33inchs, as I'm 6'1 and generally speaking
In the past I've been a little cramped on longhaul flights, I believe it was monarch the last longhaul to
Dominican rep.
Any help is greatly appreciated

33 more sleeps to go!! Whoop whoop!!

Bulkhead seats are extra legroom. These are only prebookable at extra cost. It's unlikely these will be available on the day of the flight as they get booked up well in advance. Even if they are, they are at extra cost. If you want to request seats, you can only do so via 'Select You Seat'. Further details are on Thomas Cook Airlines website. You flights are operated by a long haul Airbus A330-200. You'll find extensive aircraft information including seat plans and aircraft / cabin photos on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
Darren
If it is the extra legroom you are after, I would think the normal seats would be better than bulkhead, as you can stretch your legs under the seat in front. Also 33" legroom will be more than scheduled economy seat pitch and certainly more than Monarch, unless you flew premium.
