Hi. We're flying MAN-AYT-MAN, outbound on 29/3/13 and inbound 05/04/13. Bit confused as our outbound flight time is 4hr 20min (depart 14:45, arrive 21:05) but our inbound flight time is 6hr 15min (depart 22:00, arrive 02:15). Any idea why the inbound flight time is 2 hours longer? Hopefully we're not stopping off on the way home!

Also do you know what type of aircraft will be used?

Thanks.

kris1978,

Welcome onboard :tup
MAN-AYT-MAN (TCX2658/9?) are operated by Boeing 757-200. The return flight is always about 30-40 minutes longer as you're flying in to prevailing winds and the routing is normally slightly longer. As for the other hour, I'm not sure why as the flight time shouldn't be more then 5 hours on the 752 from AYT. Maybe it's due to the BST transition and Turkey don't put their clock back until later? I'll have to check.

Cheers Darren.

We're on tcx2658 out but tcx2985 coming back. Just found a website that states the clocks go forward on 31st March so same as UK. The plot thickens!

princessrhy ,

Please quote flight numbers when requesting aircraft information. The reference you quote is a holiday number from the brochure, not a flight number. I assume your flights are LGW-HRG-LGW (TCX1518/9)? These are indeed operated by Airbus A330-200. Looking at the seat plan, it'll be a long haul configured aircraft. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Sorry Darren, was having a blonde moment lol. The flight number is TCX1518 and yes we will be flying from gatwick, and fantastic if it is long haul at last Thomas cook are listening to their customers needs for years we have been travelling to Egypt in their cramped conditioned planes, would there be inflight entertainment on them thanks again..

princessrhy,

That's based on the seat plan as it's showing 43 rows rather than the short haul 47. They would normally reconfigure them for the summer season but given 3 have left the fleet, it seems they're slotting in a medium haul route between long haul so aren't changing it this summer. I wouldn't say they are listening to customer needs, they aren't changing anything on short haul aircraft it's just you're fortunate on the aircraft assigned to your route this summer. It would normally be a standard short haul aircraft. IFE information is on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). I've been transatlantic on aircraft with the same seat pitch as you've been to Egypt on in the past. If you think 5 hours to Egypt is bad, try 10 hours!

Thank you. Jack

jackmax,

The aircraft operating NCL-FUE-NCL (TCX6334/5) will position in to operate the flight about an hour before the departure, or night stop from the previous day so doesn't have a particular flight immediately before it,

Going on this flight today 16/02

Which is the flight previous to this please.

Sorry for the short notice

AlanSinfield,

It's a little short notice Alan, you might have gone before I posted!! It should be the aircraft coming in from Geneva (TCX2115). It's expected 40 minutes late at the moment if that's why you're wondering but some of this should be made up on the turn-around.

Have a safe flight,

Darren

I'd love to know how you get this info, i can't seem to find half the stuff through my online searching.

Hopefully you could tell me not only the airplane type but also under which brand the flight is running (i've come across a few different answers, hopefully it's just Thomas Cook)

TCX2156 Manchester to Lanarca 11/08/2013
TCX2109 Lanarca to manchester 21/08/2012

Thanks

Hi Darren

Help again please. We are looking at TCX2142 / 2143 MAN to FUE return for 28 August out and 4 September return as part of a package, or TCX2014 / 2015 31 Aug return 7 Sept. Do you know what plane they will be. Have had some bad experiences with TCX and have gone on TOM in recent years.

Thanks for your help

Malchester,

MAN-FUE-MAN (TCX2142/3 / TCX2014/5) are operated by Boeing 757-200 / Airbus A320-200 respectively.

Hi Darren again.

Just looked on seat plans. It shows 757 as 32" seat pitch and A320 as 28" seat pitch. Is this right?
