My daughter and family are on this flight tonight 6.55 from Manchester, but that flight from Sharm hasn't even taken off yet, please tell me the routes have changed

With reference to my hand luggage question the other day.

I measured my daughters Tinkerbell bag and it measured 40cm without the handle and feet - including these it measures 48.5cm.

Popped into a Thomas Cook today with bag in hand (was about to return it to the Disney shop!). They said they do not take the handle into account. Also it is really upto whoever is checking in the luggage on the day!! They also pointed out that it would have to be a real meany to not let a 6 year old's Tinkerbell bag on the plane for an extra couple of mm's.!!

So I have it from the horses mouth that I can take Tinkerbell on the plane!! Yayy - daughter is happy!!

Sorry to disappoint but it doesn't really matter what the travel agent says, if check in believes the bag is too big for the cabin then they have the final say. Its purely because if every passenger travelled with bags larger than the permitted size there would be no room for them onboard, and would probably cause delays having to put them in the hold!

After having a chat with hubby we have decided to return it to the Disney shop and go for the smaller rucksack version just to be on the safe side. Plus I would probably have ended up pulling it along anyway and giving myself a bad back in the process!!

No problem with weight issues. It's only for her teddy & felt tips etc!!

I am flying to Dalamam Turkey from Gatwick on the 13th September with Thomas Cook. The flight number is TCX448K. Can I find out what type of plane this is and whether there is in flight entertainment on these flights.

Hi,

I have a holiday to tenerife booked departing this Tuesday, flying with Thomas cook. It's not a package holiday.

Our flight booking is for 6 adults and 1 child. However, an adult now cannot come. I cannot call anyone until Monday but according to the website they will not accept a part cancellation to a booking, I would have to cancel the whole booking and loose all of the money?

Does this mean that I cannot just take one person off? I know I will lose the money for that one and that is fine - but, the other six seats are paid for and we still want them!!

Surely its just a case of deleting one name on the ticket?

What would happen if we turned up to check in and informed them there that one of the party named on the ticket couldn't travel? Would they let the rest of us fly?

If anyone can help it would be appreciated - I am very worried now and cannot speak to anyone until Monday

Have you tried a Thomas Cook travel agent in the high street? They may not be able to give you a definate answer but might point you in the right direction and put your mind at rest for the weekend

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. You could try 0871 909 0204. This Thomas Cook number deals with reservations, bookings and hol info ...... worth a try! Beware though, that you will be charged 10p per minute for the call.

AAAAAHHHHHH such relief!!!!

I found the aftersales number for on the beach who we booked through and called them.

They have told me to leave the booking as is, if a passenger named on the ticket doesn't turn up at check in it is no problem at all, the six who are there fly regardless of names on the ticket A no show doesnt invalidate the rest of the ticket.

Apparently they have no shows all the time (can you believe that!!) things happen the day before, cars break down etc etc....

We are off to Benidrom in 3 Weeks and have been watching the flight (TCX336K) each saturday. Every week it seems to be delayed for some reason. Today the flight should have left at 07.05 but left at 15.17.

Hi all,

just arrived back from Dominican Republic and thought I would let you know flight details. We flew from Manchester to Puerto Plata. Both flights were operated by an A330-200 and arrived on time/early.

10/07/10 MAN-POP: aircraft G-OMYT
24/07/10 POP-MAN: aircraft G-MDBD

entertainment was average although same tv programmed there and back which was rubbish. Got good seats on the outbound, 26H and 26J this is where the aircraft is in a 3-3-2 configuration to allow space for the downstairs toilets. Good to stretch the legs. Inbound got put in 33G next to a woman vomiting everywhere, crew kindly moved me to 8J which was an extra legroom seat free of charge !

Overall a good airline but the lack of on demand IFE is quite annoying but seats are comfortable and crew are friendly. They no longer serve breakfast on the inbound flight.

You still have to pay extra for your seats unless you wait until 7 days before departure, then you can book them at no extra charge.
