Hi Darren, we are looking to stay at the Sofitel in Taba Heights. Can you tell me the aircraft being used on the flight please? The flight number is TOM292 11Oct. We return on TOM293 18Oct. This is from/to Manchester.
Also, we may end up putting our dates back until early Novemer. Do you know if the aircraft will change between summer and winter?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you
Flew from Birmingham to Bodrum on TOM 266 on 20/6 and returned 5/7 on TOM 267. BOTH landings were the worst we've experienced for a very long time.
have heard that the thomson flight om the 22nd has had a change of plane for the flight from manchester to dominicanrepublic(punta cana ) resulting in there being no premier class anyone know the reason and how long this is likely to be for thank you for any replies sorry i dont know flight numbers...
Please can you tell me whether it's an ex FCA or ex Thomsonfly LGW-POP 18 July TOM 038. Also do you know where the aircraft is coming in from prior to the flight.
Thanks

ex first choice (v2) usually from Cancun (TOM023) but occasionally Punta Cana (TOM061) they both arrive early enough to be used for your flight.

We are flying out to Dalaman today from Gatwick TOM408 i know its late but do you know where our aircraft is flying in from would it be Dalaman too thanks in advance
re PREMIUM flight upgrades - I've now had a second email from Customer services confirming Premium luggage allowance as 23 kgs hold and 7 kgs hand luggage in contradiction of first email last week!
I think they are confusing themselves now with the difference between a Premier package holiday which used to carry the uprated allowances and an actual flight upgrade to Premium which still does!!!!

Ex-FCA, flight before is Puna Cana (TOM060/1), on the odd occasion Cancun (TOM022/3).

You don't know the weather (wind) conditions at the time of the landings and in any case, landings shouldn't be perfectly smooth. These are known as 'greasers' where the wheels would take time to spin-up and gain traction. A slightly hard landing (6fpm normally) is the norm giving a positive touchdown so the wheels spin-up and brakes can be applied as soon as possible. If you add a crosswind component or contaminated runway surface (rain), the last thing you want is a soft landing. Different aircraft have different sensations on landing as well so it was probably a perfectly normal landing. There are many variables to consider, plus aircraft aren't the easiest things to fly!

Thanks very much Darren
Thankyou Darren

A firm landing is a good landing. Most modern aircraft have automatic braking systems which are generally activated by weight on the main landing gear; no weight on the landing gear equals no braking. Sure, manual braking is always available but a couple of seconds delay on a short runway is not desirable. Also, as Dazbo says, on a wet or contaminated runway you need a firm landing to break through the water layer on the runway surface otherwise you can aquaplane serenely off the end.
a friend is flying on 22nd and was told in an email that the plane to punta cana was being repaired as it had a fault and a smaller plane was being used so would be no premium seating but they would receive a premium service , am hopeing when i fly on the 2nd august to punta cana it will be a proper premium seating , would have thought any fault could have been repaired in ten days
I asked this a while ago but could you please confirm what plane either TOM/ex-FCA I'll be flying on to Holguin on 24th July on TOM182 from Manchester.
Thank you

TOM182/3 are ex-FCA as per your previous replies, subject to any last minute changes, for example a technical problem.
Darren
Thanks Darren
