GeordieNick,

Welcome onboard :tup
I don't have the Winter 11 aircraft schedule as yet, it'll be another 2 months before I get that. It's normally an Airbus A321-200 on the TOM4314/5 and a Boeing 737-800 (winglets) on the TOM4352/3, but I can't confirm that as yet.

i need to be in the loo a lot its not fair asking every one to keep movng all the time and i have lots pain so i sit by the window so i feel safe when i went to turkey this year with thomson they give me row 1 weeks before we flow out .

Petey, I'm a bit confused by the above - are you saying that you need the whole of row 1 for just yourself rather than that you are trying to get 2 seats together for yourself and a travelling companion? I think that the only way you could guarantee this is if you paid for extra seats because Thomson's response now starts to make a bit more sense to me if they are saying that if the flight isn't full and the other seats in row 1 aren't needed by others with medical needs then they'll alocate them to you at check-in, but that otherwise the best that they can do is guarantee you two seats in row 3. Am I reading this correctly?

I appreciate that wearing a bag makes life very, very difficult but the DRA laws only require them to make 'reasonable adjustments' and what constitutes a reasonable adjustment is still an area of developing case law. At the moment, it looks like they are saying that they think that guaranteeing you two seats in row 3 (window and middle) is a reasonable adjustment but guaranteeing you all 3 seats in row 1 so that you can sit by the window with room to stretch out and don't have to ask other passengers to move when you need to go to use the toilet isn't. I think that at the moment, the only way of challenging that decision on their part would be to seek legal advice as to how you could build a case proving that what they have offered you is not a 'reasonable adjustment' within the terms of the Acts.

I know that you say that they have done this previously but a lot depends on when this was and when you are travelling this time. The difference in response this time could be that you are now booked to travel in the high season/school holidays when they know that the plane is likely to be fully booked as opposed to your previous trip being in the low season when they knew that it was unlikely to be flying out with a full passenger load. I'm not trying to excuse their attitude, just look for possible explanations.

SM

PS Have you discussed this with your GP? A letter from them confirming what your medical needs are and endorsing the request for a row to yourself might just make a difference.

Is there a row one? I thought the seating plan showed row 2 as the first row and darren confirmed that row 2 were medical seats. The seating plan shows row 3 c and 3d are also medical seats.
I can understand the need to feel safe, but I really don't think wanting 3 seats for 2 pax (if that is what petey is asking for) is reasonable. If they only need 2 of the 3 on the day, then fair enough, but to want to be guaranteed them, unless you actually pay for the extra seat, is unreasonable. Airlines generally try their best to accommodate people, so I'm sure if they can, they will.

Hi Darren, thanks for the reply!

Flights have now changed and we're now on GLA-PUJ TOM 742 and was wondering whether this one is still ex-TOM or if its ex-FCA.

Thanks in advance

monarch A321,

The TOM742/3 is also operated by the ex-TOM (G-OBYD).

G-OOAN is back in the air so unless there are any further technical issues in the fleet, you should be fine. Have a great holiday :cheers :sun2

Hi Darren
We'll be traveling Glasgow to Cancun, TOM 352 on 21 August. Can you tell me where the plane will be coming in from so I can keep an eye out for any delays?
Many thanks

BethR,

The aircraft (G-OBYD) operates to Punta Cana (TOM742/3) before yours.

DSA-SSH-DSA (TOM734/637) are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets) / Boeing 757-200 respectively. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi Darren,

Further to my previous question back in March about what aircraft we are likely to have (ex fca or tom) for our flight to Cancun from Gatwick on 27th October flight number TOM092 returning on 6th November TOM067. You said you would know more in May - I would be grateful if you have an update please?

Many Thanks.

nicochick,

LGW-CUN-LGW (TOM092/67) is a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER.

cpclarkes,

MAN-PUJ-MAN (TOM122/3) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. Registration is almost irrelevant as 5 of the 6 aircraft are identical inside, and then it's only a slight difference. You'll see the differences and extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Aircraft are rotated almost weekly so we won't know the registration until the day before. The aircraft operates to Cancun (TOM174/5) before your flight.

Hi,

Noticing a lot of long delays with flights from Man to Sandford does anyone know if flight TOM168 on the 21/07/11 will be affected as yet or is it to early to tell?

Cheers
