Hi Darren, do you have your winter flight schedules as yet? If so, could you tell me the aircraft type planned to operate TOM754/755 MAN-SSH-MAN please. We depart 19.3.12 and return 2.4.12.

Thanks in advance.

JMAC,

MAN-SSH-MAN (TOM754/5) should be operated by a Boeing 757-200.

Hi all,

It's been a couple of years since I have been on a tour operator type holiday, but has Thomson stopped all short haul in flight catering in with the ticket price? We are off to Gran Cranaria soon on TOM1142 and as it was booked a while ago cannot remember if meals on board were in or not. On having a look at our booking details I am unable to find anything but I have found this which suggests no meals included.

We've launched a brand new range of food and drink you can buy onboard our shorter flights. Choose from hot and cold drinks as well as light bites or more substantial snacks. Plus, there's a range of healthy and vegetarian options. Simply take your pick from the menu and order from a member of cabin crew.

Just so you know, this means you'll no longer see in-flight meals available to pre-order when you're booking a short haul holiday

If this is the case do they object to passengers taking their own grub on board?

Thanks in advance..

humanist,

Thomson Airways will no longer have inflight meals on short / medium haul flights. A selection of meals can be purchased onboard on selected flights. Details are given in their inflight magazine that is linked from our What Aircraft? guide (link below), on page 6. Meals are still provided on long haul. You can take your own food onboard, that's never been a problem. Just bear in mind security restrictions if you're bringing it to the airport.

Just a quick note to say how good my recent flights were with Thomson to Fuerteventura.
Flew out from EDI on 15th on one of the older 737-800's (didn't catch the reg), no winglets and quite a dated interior. However the flight was smooth, good meals by airline standards and a very informative pilot.
Took a ride on G-FDZW on our return and what a difference with the new Boeing interior and leather seats - mood lighting was cool too!
Don't know if anyone can confirm this but is the sound-proofing better with the new interior as the cabin was noticeably quiter?

jc1,

The newer 737's are an updated aircraft and therefore designed to be quieter internally and have updated engines.

qatarman,

I won't know until closer to the time, but it's normally an ex-FCA (I was on that flight last year!).

Hi

I'm looking to fly to Tenerife to stay with friends from Manchester airport on 27/12/11 for 2 weeks. Thomson, Thomas Cook and Monarch are all around the same price at the moment.

I know this is a slightly vague question, but do you have any kind of idea what type of aircraft these Airline use for this route. We went to Lanzarote with Monarch in July and was on a huge Airbus A330 that was really nice, and would really like to go on something like that again! However I'm not sure if they use these in the winter.

cheers, and again apologies for the vague question!

I'll need flight numbers in order to comment on specific flights as there are several daily. Thomson and Thomas Cook mainly use Boeing 757-200's to those destinations, sometimes the larger Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What aircraft? guide (link below).
