A question to those in the know...My outlaws are travelling to Cape Verde on Wednesday 22nd Feb, I think its Tom218 from LGW.
my mother outlaw has mobility issues and they want to take a small battery operated mobility scooter with them...the Q is, will Thomson be accommodating to this request, I believe that they took this scooter to Turkey last year on Pegasus airlines.
Any issues with scooter battery and what happens on return as Rabil is a rather small airport.

joe3400,

You'll need to give the airline a call as it'll likely need to go via cargo / outsized baggage with the relevant charge. It's not something that can be taken as part of luggage allowance. Is the battery a sealed unit? If it's a lead-acid, it'll have to be of the maitenance free / leak proof type as the last thing you'd want is Sulphuric Acid leaking in to the cargo hold. Further details are on Thomsons website. It might be easier or even cheaper to hire one in resort.

going to book thomson cruise tomorrow flying from birmingham to barbados 5th feb, going to pay extra for premier seats as my mother has mobility problems, which is the best row to select are any of the premier seats bulk head seats, i think i have a choice of rows 2 to 6. thanks.

zeusy14,

There are no best rows as all seats offer the same basic facilities. You may wish to discuss mobility issues with the airline before booking to see what they can offer and any assistance you need. Flights are operated by former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-300/ER (283 seats / long haul). You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) where there's a link to the aircrafts seating plan so you can look at the layout. The toilet is on the left of the premium cabin so you might want to consider seats A-E.

Hi Darren

Hope you had a good Christmas.

Just booked with Thomson to fly to Heraklion from Manchester on 14 June (TOM2456). I think this is a 737-800 or a 737-300 with no IFE. Am I right? also do you think there is any chance they will use a new 787 on this route?

Thanks in advance

Malchester,

I did thanks. I don't have the Summer 2012 aircraft schedule as yet, only up to the end of April 2012. MAN-HER-MAN (TOM2456/7) is historically a Boeing 757-200 but looking at OAG, it's down as a Boeing 767-304/ER for this summer. I'll know for sure in May. It's not normally a 737. IFE was stopped commencing November 2011 on all but long haul flights. There are PSP's available for hire with movies etc, refer to Thomsons inflight magazine (link on our What Aircraft? guide). You've no chance of a 787 as the first isn't expected for at least another 12 months, January 2013 is the latest delivery date due to production delays. I update our What Aircraft? guide with the latest as I get it.

Hi

We will be flying from Gatwick to Hurghada on 27th January 2012, flying with Thomson Boeing 757-200. What is the seat pitch on these flights? We have to select our seats now, are they all the same or are some better than others?

Thanks

susiey,

You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) with the information you're looking for, as well as links to aircraft and cabin photos and a seat plan. Seat pitch is 28". Apart from extra legroom seating, seat pitch is the same throughout the aiircraft.

Having never flown on an exFCA 767 and needing to use my own over ear headphones (due to hearing aids) can anyone plese advise if you need an adapter or is it 3.5mm single plug.
Reply
qatarman,

You'll need an aircraft adapter to use your own head phones (twin 3.5mm mono to single 3.5mm stereo).

robinsk,

Welcome onboard :tup
EMA-ACE-EMA (TOM7730/1) are operated by Boeing 737-800 (winglets). Row 9 should have windows, I think it's 10 an 12 that don't. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft guide (link below).
