Re: TOM048/049 GTW to Samana Domincan Republic
Hi Darren, we are looking forward to heading off 9 Feb on TOM048 GTW to Samana. We have booked row 19 C&D as we were assured by Thomsons the seats fully recline. Someone has told me they were on the same aircraft and row 19 didn't recline and passengers were complaining. There is an exit at row 20, so would this stop them reclining? Is there any news about the aircraft being used for the flight? We booked them so we could recline and not bother people behind us.
Thanks again,
Mandy

mandyandcarl,
I sat in row 19 onboard the V2 aircraft (ex-FCA) for 14 hours going to PVR so I can assure you they do recline! They are the row infront of the overwing exit row. Bear in mind there are 4 configurations on the 767 fleet so passengers may not be on the same one you were scheduled to be on. All seats on the 767's recline though. Looking at the schedule, your flight is one of the swapped ones to the ex-TOM long haul now rather than the ex-FCA. Row 19 still reclines though, it just means there isn't the exit row behind.

Thanks Darren,
That's a shame - I only booked it because of the extra space behind, otherwise we would have picked 2 seats together AB or FG, further back. Do you think there is any point me calling Thomsons to check?

mandyandcarl,
You can call, but it's not going to change anything. As long as you're happy where you're sat. The flights changed from ex-FCA to ex-TOM commencing 12th Jan.

Can you tell me which seat plan matches the flight we have - is it now v.1 on seatplan.com whereas before it was v. 2? I booked row 19 becausue of the extra room behind for reclining. If they have changed to an aircraft without an exit at row 20 and therefore less room to recline, I won't be happy as it was a waste of £50.
Thanks for your help - really appreciate it.

mandyandcarl,
I can't guarantee your flight has changed, but looking at the logs, the flight changed from the ex-FCA to the ex-TOM and as far as I know, will be for the remainder of the winter season. The seat plan you need (linked on our What Aircraft? guide) is the 283 seat (long haul), former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets).

We flew with Thomson Airways on our recent trip to Bulgaria, our tickets said we had 20kg per person luggage weight. This was absolutely fine. We had only 1 hold bag which weighed 28kg. When we got to checkout the girl said that no bag could weigh more than 23KG
. We have flown many times and have never ever been told this. We have used the same 1 bag for a few years. Luckily hubby had a ruck sack as his flight bag. We had to open the case there and then, move hubby's flight stuff into my handbag, and stuff his ruck sack with as much as we could. How embarassing
I know I should have gone into the online holiday information booklet to read more, but as it said 20kg per person I didn't feel it necessary.

Marlou.
First Choice / Thomson (Thomson Airways) have had a weight restriction on hold luggage of 23kg for at least 2 years. It's a health and safety restriction for baggage handlers. It's not up to the airline to inform you really, it's on their website and included in ticket bookets and brochures so is up to the passenger to check luggage restrictions before travel. I know reading the small print is boring, but it's what it's there for and something you need to check before travel as it often varies between airlines.

rhodgreen,
I only have a limited schedule at the moment, not all flights. Yours isn't one of them I'm afraid. The TOM632/3 is normally a 76W, but that's to be confirmed.

Hi,
we are flying out Cardiff to Barbados on 4th March (TOM796) and returning 18th March (TOM797). These are P&O cruise charters. Looking lately I see Thomson have been experiencing delays on longhaul ops. Do you know what plane is likely to operate this route and as Cardiff is not a base where the plane will position from and if this has a bearing on punctuallity?
Thanks in advance

It should be an ex-thomsonfly 767. The aircraft will (or should) fly empty to Cardiff from Manchester and previously operate MAN-PUJ-MAN(TOM104/5)
Delays happen for various reasons, and past flight delays are no indication of future delays.
