Hi guys
I've booked our honeymoon to Mexico and we're flying on TOM048 from Gatwick to Cancun.
I've paid for Premium and prebooked seats 9A and 9B, on the basis that they were at the back of the cabin and therefore no one behind us if we put seats back.
Any experience of these seats or flight? Concerned that there is a loo nearby....
Thanks
Rob

767 or 757?
767's., don't know if they are trying to improve them because of the Dreamliner saga. We had booked premium seats on the dreamliner but we are now on a 767, which is a little disappointing, however, safety first. Just trying to get as much info on them as poss.
Looking forward to our holiday regardless of which plane, but it would be nice to know what to expect.
Thanks

If this is an exFCA767 I believe the nearest toilets are next to row 11 in the economy section. I dont think row 9 gets a window just a wall.
downhuman,
Seating is personal preference. Row 9 are as good as the others in premium in terms of seat pitch and comfort. However, there's no window on that row. There's a toilet positioned behind row 9 at row 11, seperated by the L2 door with a curtain pulled across the isle to seperate the cabins. It doesn't disturb passengers in row 9 though. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our what Aircraft? guide (link below).

We will decide tonight!!
How many hrs to Bavaro?
From Punta Cana airport, about an hour depending on how many hotels you stop at onroute. Flight time, subject to winds and routing is approximately 9.5 hours (outbound, 8.5 hours inbound).

I have also heard this but not found any other info

There is no increase in seat pitch in the premium cabin on replacement aircraft as far as i'm aware. That's why those originally booked in the premium club cabin on the 787-8 are being refunded and compensated for 2" less seat pitch.

Ok, thanks for your reply.

The toilet at row12/13 is far enough away not to be an issue in the slightest
When we flew with Thomson last October it was announced that they would be removing 5 rows of seats to make more leg room.
Does anyone know if this has been done or was it only certain planes they would be doing this.
The flights have certainly rocketed in price so they are not losing our financially.

More info regarding that in the Thomson topic http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/forum/thomson-airways-t68846-4920.html#p1600536
They've taken them out of the 757 not five rows though. Most of the extra legroom seats are in the forward cabin, there is slightly more in the middle cabin half an inch maybe, and row 13def has lots of legroom.
Thanks for replies.
I only fly short haul these days, mainly on 757-200 and it was on this type of plane that they announced they were removing the rows.
I cant sit in an exit row because of a medical condition and have never had a problem with Thomson before as most of their flights I have used these last few years all seem to have the slimmer seats which give an extra inch of leg room.I am only 5ft 10ins so dont know how anyone over 6ft cope.
I just hate it when someone reclines their seat onto my painful knees.

Jay Trip,
It's untrue that 5 rows are being removed from the Boeing 757-200, its 2 rows (12 seats). This will provide more extra legroom seats (sold as such) in the forward cabin with a couple of inches extra in the remaining rows in the forward cabin and the entire centre cabin. The rear cabin remains unchanged. I updated our What Aircraft? guide the other month to reflect the changes that are rolled out officially from May.

Darren,Do you know where the medical seats are now located?
My friend is going to PEK with Thomson in June and will require a medical seat.

Are you sure you mean PEK (Beijing)? They won't be flying with Thomson Airways on the 752!! Medical seats should be the same as previously.
Darren
Would it be Port el Kantaoui maybe ? Perhaps that would more likely be a Thomson flight ?
