graeme235,

As Sunaddict mentions, row 5 in premium has a window. It's row 10 that doesn't in the front section of the ex-TOM long haul 76W's. There will be people behind you in row 6 although you're seperated by a curtain and there's plenty of room between the rows.

Welcome onboard :tup
Your flights are operated by a long haul configured Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Seating is personal preference. There aren't really any better seats or ones to avoid, it's whatever you prefer. Apart from extra legroom seats, all seats have the same seat pitch and facilities in their respecive cabins. If you want to feel the sensation of flight, eg the aircraft pitch and yaw on take-off and landing, then a seat towards the front or rear will give you that. If you want a smooth ride with minimal sensation of flight, anywhere over the wings will be fine. The forward part of the wings is the aircrafts centre of gravity through which the aircraft moves so the closer you are to the CofG, the less you'll feel the aircrafts movements. Having said that, on a 186,900kg twin jet, you don't feel that much anyway, not compared to a 750kg light prop like a PA-28!

Excellent, thank you.

I am not too worried about leg room as both me and the other half are both quite short! We get to chose our seat, just waiting for the e mail. I am hoping to get a decent window seat, though not too worried if I dont. Just do not want to get a seat that will spoil my first ever flight!

Anyone know how soon before your flight you get to select your seat? I am guessing it will be quite near the time so they know which aircraft will be rostered for the flight?

You can select your seat numbers 90 days prior to your inbound flight, if you ring the airline.

I waited until the e-mail arrived and found the first seven rows of window seats had been taken, but we still were able to choose overwing seats which my wife likes to avoid to much movement being near the airplanes centre of gravity, as Darren has explained in an earlier post.
If it is your first flight I would suggest you select a window seat, you will be sitting together, due to the 2-4-2 layout, although you will get some good views on take off there is not a great deal to look at once you are over the sea, when coming into land you should get some interesting scenes of Punta Cana, although the approach is over the sea and on the return flight you will get the take off views but then you soon fly into dark sky for the overnight segment of the flight, and the return landing will be in the early morning light.
When yoiu get home I am sure you will be looking forward to your next flight, congratulations on your forthcoming wedding and do have an great honeymoon.

The cabins are all the same on the same aircraft type so that's not a problem. Let us know when you're about to go through the process as there's an odd seat with a blank panel rather than a window. This is where wiring and air conditioning is routed. You don't want to be sat with no view for 10 hours!

I fly tomorrow on TOM068 and from BHX at 09.15 and wondered if you would know the aircraft registration number yet.
Many Thanks

We fly to Sanford, Florida on 16 July 2011 (TOM 118) from Manchester, returning on 30 July (TOM119).

Will the Premium cabin have 5 rows or be the ex-FCA 9 rows? :)

floridafan,

If you ask again in May, I'll know then for you. It's likely to be an ex-FCA (9 rows) though.

buster27,

MAN-PMI-MAN (TOM2170/1) should be a Boeing 757-200.

lbreslin,

What information are you looking for? The flight is operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER. I'll know from May if it's the ex-FCA or ex-TOM. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).
