hi all, just returned from our first trip to goa,we stayed at the highland beach resort in candolim,excellent hotel in a great location,was really suprised just how big the complex was,rooms were very spacious & cleaned everyday on our first day we made our way to the beach where we found claudinas shack,anthony & the staff were great especially with our 2 sons,used this shack for the rest of our holiday as the food was excellent,beach was lovely although had to be careful when boys went into the sea as it was a bit rough although they had fun riding the waves on their bodyboards! got lots of hassle first few days from beach sellers but found a firm no & they went on their way ,on our 2nd week there were no sellers as the beach shacks had paid for a security guard to patrol the beach,must say we didn,t find the culture shock as bad as we thought ithink havin been to turkey & bulgaria it kind of prepared us a bit ,did a few trips with daytripper who were very good,we would definately recommend the jungle book trip fantastic experience when we arrived at the camp we were the only ones there,my husband hd a bad stomach & went to bed which meant me & my sons had to sing & dance around the bonfire on our own still all good fun,luckily some more people arrived in the morning,found candolim very nice people very friendly,didn,t have one bad meal whilst we were there it was lovely to walk past a restaurant & not to be hassled to go in there! or favourites were fishermans cove,mango grove,rising waves,infernos&bendin bamboos,we really couldn,t believe how cheap it was in goa it was great to come home with money went to the meets in the carvery it was great to meet you all you gave us some good advise my 10 year old son loved chilly thought she was nuts!loved the night market bought some lovely things there,we really enjoyed our holiday in goa although we found it hard keeping our 14 year old entertained in the evenings,having said that he still had a fab time,both our sons learnt so much during their time in goa it made them appreciate what they have ,they even gave away some of their clothes to a little boy who,s mum had a shop by the hotel,we will definately return tracey,duncan & boys
