Weather conditions in April

Hoping to go to Sri Lanka, namely Dolphin Hotel, in April. It seems such a beautiful place, which I am determined to see but my other half has had a life long affair with sunbathing

and a holiday with a majority of rain days,14 days in month, would be a nightmare in her eyes.
To keep the peace I am hoping for good weather in a beautiful area. We usually have a majority of beach holidays, this is to good an area for this, .

We visited Sri Lanka in April a number of years ago. We stayed in Bentota. Yes we did have rain, but only for maybe an hour or two, and even then it was warm rain. It didn't rain every day and sometimes just at night. Believe me I did plenty of sunbathing :sun2

and would not hesitate to go in April again.
