Tegal Sari hotel is located 1.5 km from the centre of Ubud and they provide free transport to and from Ubud. We asked restaurant staff to ring and the driver came within minutes.
We also arranged for Tegal Sari to pick us up and drop us back at our hotel in Legian (charge for this) As we arrived at Tegal Sari before booking in time the driver dropped us off at a nice restaurant and came back for us when we rang... our luggage was already in our room.
Tegal Sari staff are wonderful, booking direct was easy and they were quick to respond to my emails.
We had heard so much about Tegal Sari from friends who visit every year so our expectations were high, however, we wasn't disappointed. We booked room 20 a Super Deluxe which was upstairs with fabulous views of the rice paddies. King four poster bed with traditional drapes. Room also had fridge and small L shaped settee and coffee table. The balcony had two chairs, coffee table and a day bed. Just wonderful for a couple of days chilling out.
The bathroom was lovely with a separate walk in shower as well as large bath.
Breakfast is limited but ample. It can either be taken on your balcony/patio or at the small restaurant. Staff deliver your food to your room and a perfect setting and a great way to start the day.
Unfortunately, I had a accident whilst at Tegal Sari... my own fault and I should have been looking where I was going and I missed my footing, fell and broke a bone in my foot in three places. On the plus side we was at a lovely hotel and it meant the day bed was all mine :-) Even with my fall it didn't retract from our stay there, as I can't think of a better place for enforced relaxation.
Next time we hope to stay for 3 nights... 2 wasn't enough.

Lovely hotel. Peaceful setting but only minutes from the main part of Ubud. Would return in a heartbeat.
