Book a swimming pool or sea view room. Its worth the extra money as I know some of the rooms could be quite gloomy due to the design of the building..

Babin Kuk resort area

A large area of land laid out for the Holiday industry approx 5 km from the old city of Dubrovnik.. No 5,6&7 buses run a good service into the Dubrovnik area. 12 Kuna per one way journey. You can walk it in 1 hour or so. Get Kuna's as this area do not take Euros.

Lapad is just 10 minutes by bus from Dubrovnik Old town so an ideal location for relaxing but close enough to get into the town whenever you want.

The beach is pebble and so you need sea shoes to go in the sea and sunbeds unless you like pebble bathing, the area we sat did have broken glass around in the pebbles too so beware.

Saying that the resort is lovely and we felt very safe walking around, plenty of restaurant's and bars on the main street, ones to try would be the More Cave bar which is just a walk along the prom and the Atlantic Café which is on a hill at the side of the resort, food was amazing here and very reasonable.

All in all it was a lovely small area that was relaxing and quiet with the option to easily get elsewhere.

Dubrovnik is a lovely place very little crime if any. A walk around the walls is a must but make sure you go in the morning or late afternoon as it gets very hot. Also a trip on a replica 16th Century Galleon is a must. You go to 3 Islands and have wine & lunch provided on the boat. It was well worth the 315 kuna's (£40).The bus journeys can be unpleasant in peak time as it is so hot and they are very crowded, but they are cheap. If you want to fish there is plenty and the sea is so clear. A very beautiful place it has everything.

the resort was very beautiful with shingle beaches and small bays to swim in the sea was a beautiful shade of blue and spotless.we found there was very little entertainment in this resort only cafe, pizza and beach bars. if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holday then this would suit you if you like to party its not the place to be

A beautiful town with lots of scope for excursions. The old town (much restored since the 1991 war) is clean and safe, didn't see a policman the whole week. Many small boat companies competing for business so plenty of deals to be had. Especially recommend the 3 island day out.
Excellent flat-rate local bus service gets you around as an example the No10 takes you all the way to Cavtat, a 30 minute journey for the equivalent of £1.20

Countless restaurants serving excellent food at good prices, £20 bought us a nice fresh fish meal with wine. In the old town go to one of the side street restaurants rather than in the main squares for the best prices.

Gets a bit crowded when the cruise ships are in but not to the point of spoiling it.

Mo sandy beaches, just pebbles or man-made concrete areas so no good if you are looking for a beach holiday.

Will definitely go back some time.

The resort itself is beautiful along with surrounding areas and numerolus excursions are good value. We especially liked the boat trips. if you like loud rajmatazz at the nearby bars and cafes or childrens amusements on the Lapad peninsula of Dubrovnik then fine, but dont expect it to be peaceful. The old city itself is rather more peaceful and enchanting other than the inevitable crowds of guided parties.
The beach is good but shingle and plenty of loungers and sun shades.

Dubrovnik consists of the old town, the commuter suburbs (with no parking spaces to be had!!) and two or three areas in which the majority of the hotels are situated (Lapad peninsula, Babin Kuk peninsula, and to the east of the old town (the expensive ones!).

A good municipal bus service links the hotel areas with the centre.

The old centre is very attractive though the stone pavements can get very slippy in wet weather. It is worth walking around the walls, but do take water and suncream as it is very exposed. The views are tremendous.

Dubrovnik is a favourite cruise port of call. Try to avoid visiting when a cruise ship is in because it becomes like a sardine factory, and the prices can vary!! Avoid buying from the street sellers if no prices are visible unless you really want to haggle - and CHECK YOUR CHANGE!!

I would particularly recommend visiting the adjacent island of LOKRUM which is a botanic garden and a 'green lung' for the city. Make sure that you buy a boat ticket which includes the entrance fee to the island if you don't want to pay up as soon as you arrive!

Dubrovnik does not have any sandy beaches - they are either pebbly or concrete platforms. Beach shoes are a MUST. The sea is remarkably clear and clean.

I would certainly return to Dubrovnik, but would hope for better weather - we were there for a week and it rained for 5 days out of the 7 .... but we still had a fantastic time. After all, a holiday is what you make it.

The resort is clean but there was a lot of work being carried out on the pedestrian areas. It is a lovely place and with the investment that seems to be happening it won't be long before it becomes over popular - so visit now!

The Old Town is stunning with plenty to look at (if you are interested in history and architecture). There are plenty of bars and restaurants which serve excellent seafood.

We only visited two beaches - both were pebbles. The water is clean and clear and the scenery breathtaking. Its a beautiful country.

We would love to go back but there are so many other places we want to see.

Fantastic area full of interesting places to visit. Dining out cheap and good value. Recommend Tonis for Italiian, Mae Culpa for Pizza and Domino Steak house for more expensive, but good value for money food (approx £40 for meal for 2 including wine brandy etc)

Do not miss walking the walls around the old town fanastic views.
