The hotel is a Victorian Country house set back overlooking Bassenthwaite lake.
The staff are very welcoming and can not do enough for you. There is a small bar with an open fire and a grand lounge with comfy chairs and a roaring fire.
The rooms are very clean and fresh,with plenty of hot water and massive white towels.
The food was excellent, we are both vegetarians and our choice was very good each night.
The hotel is family run and the special service and care shows.
Would recomend this hotel,it is in a good walking area or just as good for a lazy break.
This was our second time here and we will definatly be returning.
