We booked this hotel on the internet after looking at all the available pictures. We would normally stay at a travel lodge or Holiday Inn but no reasonable priced rooms were available or not in the area we needed to be in.
On arrival I was told there was no record of my booking I then produced my voucher and they suddenly found my booking without any problem.
The reception was clean and pleasant but very small, I was given room 14 right up in the attic and of course no lift. I walked into the room and the floor was filthy the bedding was stained the window stuck open the curtains on the floor, the ceiling covered in damp with paint falling off.
I went back down to reception where there was someone different at the counter I told him I would not stay in that room it was disgusting and ask to be move to a much better room. he told me he was just a friend looking after reception while the owner had to go out.
I had to go off to my function on return at about midnight nothing had been done my wife got very angry and when to reception this time it was the night porter who had no power to do anything, but surrendered to my wife within 5 minutes and gave us another room.
This room was a little better but not much the shower had no head on it the sink no plug the room tatty. it was so late we decided to stay bit was up and out early.
this was once a nice hotel that has been left to rot and is not well looked after. After seeing the state of the hotel we was not going to try the breakfast.
I would advice anyone considering this hotel stay well clear.
