we arrived at 11am and could not check in till 2pm but they allowed us to leave our cases till then, which was brilliant, our rooms were on the first floor, rooms 107 and 108, one faced on to the main street and yes it was noisy but hey you are on holiday , and these things happen,The hotel itself is bang int eh middle of everything, clean, the staff were very pleasant, nothing to much bother, and the bar prices were ok,lol
Inside the rooms , we had 2 twin beds, the rooms look like they have just been painted, the bathrooms were clean aswell and well stocked with the usual shampoo, shower gel etc.
hairdryer and iron if you wanted it,the beds were so comfortable,it's just a pity we were only there for one night instead of two.

The Hotel was very good indeed and as one of the 'Best Western Chain'of independant Hotels lives up to the chains reputation, after Days Hotel in Ballymun this was a Haven indeed.

We suffered from a 'Hen night' on the Friday night,in that the 'security' were called and they came to my room twice at 2.30 & 4.45 awaking me on both occations it seems the 'Hen Party' was on the 3rd floor not the second.

On complaining in the morning I was given a 50% discount on my 3 day stay.

Very central and very good Food, breakfast was very big indeed and I found it immpossable to eat it all. Buckets of tea (in quantity) if you want it I am a tea drinker and had 4 pots.

Nothing was too much trouble for staff - very few were Irish it seems that there are lots of Polish in Eire.

On the whole a very tranquil and restful time was had and I would without hesitation go back.

I booked to stay in this in this hotel before reading the reviews so to be honest after reading the reviews was in two minds as to whether to cancel and book somewhere else. But in the end decided to stay there after e-mailing the hotel and requesting a refurbished room.

After arriving first impressions were not too favourable the outside of the buiding looking quite tatty. Going to our room was the redeeming factor finding it obviously recently refurbished and on a par with many of the rooms we have stayed in at several 4 star hotels, fair sized and very clean.

Staff were friendly and helpful and hotel is in a good location. I can't really comment on the entertainment as the 3 nights we were there we went outside the hotel.

Stayed here for a Bryan Adams concert at The Point theatre. Right in the centre of Dublin, and within easy reach of everything we needed. Rooms a good size, and facilities very good.

Only negative point is that they don't offer rooms for 3 people according to the sites I've tried to book through for 2006. There was a single bed in the room we stayed in this year, so why can't 3 people officially use the room, e.g. my partner, myself, and my young son?

Recommended without reservation for couples.

At the moment this hotel is being refurbished and I would say it will be going on for some time.
My daughter and I booked in their not knowing this or having been given any kind of warning.

We were due to stay their for two nights before christmas (last minute present buying) and well I wish we had been anywhere but there, as such we stayed one night.

We were put in one room and it reeked of paint, we asked to move and they obliged, only to be be put in a room no bigger than a cupboard, the room smelt of damp and mould, so again we asked to move as we couldn't sleep in their, the girl I must say was really helpfull and finally gave us a nice room, no damp or paint fumes.

The breakfast the next morning left a lot to be desired, you couldn't possibly eat it, so we went to a cafe instead.
I looked on the website as we are going to be staying over night in Dublin again soon, and they do now give a warning that it is being refurbished, and they have reduced their prices as such.

When we explained we wouldn't be staying another night due to all the paint fumes around the hotel and drilling and such like they were really understanding and due to their helpfullness and politeness I would go back their again, as it is a nice place and extremely well placed.

But I think I will wait a while , till all the work has been done !!!
