As a party of 9 ranging from 12 to 75 we thought this would be ideal, as it turned out the rooms all four had terrible bathrooms some with no shower doors, shared balcony with another party? small extra bed that you could not stretch out on,and the walk down to the beach could not be managed by the two elderly persons. All in all a realy horrible hotel stayed one night and got transfered to another hotel this complained is being looked into with thompson holidays.

We stayed at the Leonardo Da Vinci hotel in Limone for our Honeymoon in September.

After a fantastic flight and transfer we were ready to enjoy ourselves!!
The overall appearance of the Hotel is lovely-very pretty.

All staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival.

One thing to bear in mind - there are lots of stairs!!! and hills!! not good for those that have trouble walking.

We were in a superior room on the 2nd floor overlooking the main pool and a fantastic view of the lake, so the trek to the room from the restaurant etc was worth it! Room was very clean and tidy and roomy.

The food was fantastic, so much choice and so clean, the restaurant staff were fantastic, you would drop your fork and they would be there with a clean one in an instant!

The location of the hotel was OK, the walk to the town was lovely, but didn't like walking back so we got the free mini bus! Be warned! you have to get to the front of the queue for the bus or you will get pushed out of the way!! and I don't think the driver likes the English so pretend you are German and you seem to get away with all sorts!

As for the entertainment - not good! We are only in our twenties so the entertainment wasn't our thing at all, we ended up just getting a couple of drinks from the bar and going back to our room to read or watch a film in Italian!!

The trips are fantastic though, especially the Venice by night - its a long day but worth it. Look out for Marcia the tour guide, she is fantastic, VERY detailed!!!!!

What a Wonderful place we had a ball! The place is kept spotless by friendly staff who never seem to stop working. Beautiful views of the lake from most rooms, simply stunning!!!

The rooms are clean but they are a bit dated with a light brown tile in the bathroom yuk!

The restaurant produces fabulous food with good variation yet the poolside bar provides a more basic meal about 12.30 every day of chips and pasta/German sausage or burger.

Speaking Of Germans, there are lots of them.

The hotel is about 20 mins walk from Limone.

The entertainment team work very hard too and most of it is very good for kids not so good for mums and dads.
Thankfully they do put on live music most nights from 10pm.

All in all excellent

Just returned from a very enjoyable 10 days at this hotel. On arrival our room was upgraded to a Superior at no extra charge, which we were very pleased with, 30 euros safe deposit, which we got back on checking out. Lovely balcony with stunning view of the lake. Great bathroom, and room kept very clean by the maid. No hairdrier though, but those who had them said they didn't work very well, better to take your own. We walked into Limone a few times, very pleasant walk, we got the bus on one occasion, but on the return journey the driver would not let us on even though the bus was not full, don't think he liked the English very much. We didn't bother with the bus after that. There was entertainment on each night, which was quite good and kept us amused. The entertainments team were absolutely tireless and seemed to work from early morning to late at night and were very friendly, as were all the other staff at this hotel, particularly Jonny, the restaurant manager, and Stefano, the bar manager. Would definitely go back again.

My wife and I were on our first trip to Lake Garda and loved our stay at the Leonardo Da Vinci hotel in Limone.
Our flight had been delayed and the staff kept the restaurant open for us arriving which immediately impressed us.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Limone, and is on the flat, unlike some of the other hotels in the resort. A 15 min walk from the hotel takes you into Limone. You can also use the shuttle bus provided by the hotel for a small cost.

We booked a superior room (which I would recommend and I would imagine would be essential in high season as they have air conditioning. These rooms also have a lakeside view.

The hotel complex is large and kept immaculately clean.

We were very pleased with the room. Rooms were cleaned daily to a very high standard, with bed linen changed twice a week.

The staff at the hotel were the most efficient and friendly people we have ever met abroad. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Customer services was 100% on the agenda and we could not fault them in any way.

The entertainments team were fabulous. Although we do not have children, we noticed over the two weeks how much the children enjoyed the activities and how much time the Entertainments staff had for the children. Nothing was too much bother for them and there was plenty to keep kids amused.

There were plenty of activities for adults during the day, such as Archery, Tai Chi, Speed Boat ride etc etc

The food at the hotel was fabulous. Plenty of variety to suit most tastes. We used the buffet restaurant each night but you could book a table at the hotels other restaurant for a full waiter service at no extra cost.

The Pool Bar grill also served excellent food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return to the hotel again in 2006.

We were a party of 3 adults who booked a superior room which included a double bed and a bed settee, we found the room to be very clean with excellent maid service each day. We overlooked the gardens which were quiet and restful, we could see a little of the lake and mountains. The room was not as large as we would have wished but we tried to be out and about as much as possible. The bathroom facilities consisted of a shower cubicle, toilet, bidet and sink, the shower unit leaked on both sides after showering, although the hotel sent someone to look at this it was clear that the sealant had broken down around the shower tray and needed renewing. The food at this hotel is wonderful, the choice is wide and varied, lots of fresh salads and vegetarian options. I must have put on half a stone in one week!.

The entertainment is good, but it could be said that the guests are a captured audience since the centre of the resort Limone is a brisk walk away and there are no footpaths to the town, a walk-way links the hotel to the centre, but beware if you are not as good on your feet as you once were, mountain goats spring to mind. The staff are very friendly and polite, however we almost died of thirst on an evening waiting for our after dinner drinks

I would return to the hotel, but would prefer to have a room with bath and shower, and would also choose a block on the lower levels.

The resort is breathtakingly beautiful, trips can be arranged to Venice and Verona this is a must for all fans of culture and beauty.

I have recently returned from a holiday at the fantastic Hotel Leonardo da Vinci , Limone and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone. It is a hotel that caters for most(except those who are looking for a clubbing holiday!)

I would call it a hotel for all the family. Although it is a big hotel, it is cleverly designed in different tiers, thus you do not have a huge volume of people concentrated in one space.

We stayed 3 adults in a room to save on the cost of 2 rooms and it was plenty big enough. The spare bed folded into a decent size settee which was useful in the day. I would recommend paying for a superior room it had many extras.

The air conditioning was brilliant and the manager allowed us to use it as we wished. The balcony with lakeside view was stunning. It even had a little garden too. A safe was included free of charge. Each room has satellite tv, should you need it.

The bathroom had bath, shower and bidet and clean towels were given everyday. The rooms were immaculately cleaned, sheets changed regularly. Most comfortable. In fact the entire hotel was clean and the staff were extremely polite, friendly and so organised. Always willing to help.

We were even given towels for the poolside which was great, you do not need to take any towels with you. There are 4 pools, one with a bar/restaurant which is reasonable with their prices. It is great as you do not have to pay for sunloungers, umbrellas and there are plenty of them.

There is a private beach which is really nice with a cafe/grill. Here you can hire kyaks for 7 euros an hour, pedalos and go windsurfing etc. All you have to pay for on the beach is 1 euro for a mattress for the loungers.

Next to the hotel,a short walk up the road is a campsite, turn right as you go out of the hotel and keep walking, There is a shop on the campsite, handy to use instead of walking to town if you are relaxing on the beach or pool area. There is a courtesy bus to and from the town centre which is 1.2 km away.

The food in the hotel is absolutely first class. It is a real highlight and the choice that you have is really unbelievable.Everyone is catered for. My daughter is vegetarian and she had ample choice.

There is a staggering variety and the quality and freshness is really top drawer, We went half board and this filled us up adequately. We were not hungry in between. This also saved on our budget as for the first time ever,we did not have to fork out for a meal at lunchtime. Highchairs are provided for young children. There is free wine, coffee, tea, soft drinks and water 10am-6pm, which is a godsend. Once again this keeps your purse closed. There is also a frozen milky drink which was very popular and biscuits and a simple cake was served free inthe afternoon.

If you were going on trips which returned too late for dinner. You had 3 alternatives, to collect a 12 euro voucher which could be used in the grill bar, to ask for a packed lunch or to ask for a cold plate to be put in your room when you arrived back. This was so useful. Again they really try to think of it all. They even have a copy of an English newspaper that you can read(no charge) There is a great entertainment programme for the kids and I have never seen so many relaxed mums and dads with young children enjoying their fun.

Their is also an entertainment/ fitness programme for adults and there is light entertainment each evening for the guests. There is a fitness gym to use and also a sauna, jacuzzi, turkish bath, solarium. Sooooooo much. You can arrange facials and massages and beauty treatment at prices in line with the uk. I have tried to include most things about the hotel that I think may be useful. It really is a great place ,,,,,ahhh heaven I wish I was back there. I would return to the hotel any time which is something that I do not usually do. I came back home with money to spare, so although it was a little more expense initially. It pays off in the long run as you simply have everything you could want in one beautiful place.
