Not much to do around hotel

This hotel is likely the cleanest hotel have ever stayed in. The food was good although over the fortnight some choices repeated.

If you wish a quiet holiday this ideal apart from planes landing which wasn’t that bad. In the immediate vicinity there is not a lot happening, a few shops and cafes.

The staff are fantastic always smiling, asking how you were and doing multitude of tasks. The entertainment poor and only on 3 evenings one of which is Madeiran dancers of all ages. The other 2 nights is the same group playing /singing different styles of music.

The only reason would not go back is it is too far away from Funchal and any other activities. Would recommend it though if you were only going for a relaxing holiday.

The location of this hotel for us was great. Five minutes by taxi from the airport (6-8 euros) and you are in this lovely hotel. Right on the seafront of this lovely village. We had a side seaview room and the view was beautiful IMO worth paying the extra for, although the balconies aren't very private, however this didn't spoil it for us.
The decor, furnishings, bathrooms, bedrooms, resturant in this hotel are all lovely and kept exceptionally clean. You even get candles and josh sticks in your bedroom.
We only stayed b&b. We found the breakfasts good. A selection of cold items, juices, fruit, ham, cheeses, then a girl would cook the hot items to order for you - fried eggs, boiled eggs, omlettes, bacon, sausage.
We didn't have evening meal in the buffet resturant as it was 22 euro each. We did eat in the italian resturant in the hotel, the pizza and pasta we had was very good and cost less than 10 euro per person.
This hotel doesn't have any organised day time activities and in our two weeks there we only had entertainment on two occassions. I therefore wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a lot of entertainment. It is more suited to people who like thier own company and quiet nights. There is a mix of nationalities holidaying here.
Although the hotel is close to the airport (we could see the planes taking off from our room), the noise did not bother us.
The hotel offers a few shuttle bus to Funcahl several times per day.
We loved our stay here and were so glad we choose this hotel over the ones in Funchal. We had an excellent time and hope to return in the future.
