We were worried about the reports regarding the steps - however we were put in I block - a brilliant location above the pine trees and far enough away from any noise.

Although we had a couple of niggles on our arrival they were corrected the same day. We only ate in the restaurant once - which was enough.

The location was fabulous, the hotel staff on the whole very helpful, one member did not like giving change for the pool table, but the bar staff were fantastic.

The entertainment in the evening was better than some tour operator only entertainments, in that most acts were from outside. My three teenagers had a whale of a time, as I regard Cala Llonga as a very safe resort and so they were able to go off if they wished. Most of the time, they did not but stayed around the pool and made friends - my son, aged 13 had the best holiday ever with football, pool etc. The two girls and boy who organised the games were brilliant - we are going back in 2005.

When we arrived at the Montemar we were fairly impressed it was quiet and looked nice. There were a group of about three families including us that got of the coach, although, as we were left to wait outside at around 3am for about half an hour (after telling reception three times that we were there!) finally a Stallios (Easyjet manager) look a-like appeared taking one set of families at a time to their apartments (we were one of the last!)

He led us down a rubbly path just watching as we lugged our suitcases in toe (as it was to bumpy to use the path.)

We were overlooking the tennis court we were staying in T3 Stallios just watched in awe as me and my two children lugged our suitcases up the stairs (running over our toes many times... he still stood there and watched as my 12 year old daughter nearly fall down them! When coming back down to help her brother, Stallios went in to put the out-side light on... oh how kind!

We were a bit shocked when we saw a small scatty kitchen with a pool of water by the refrigerator and a terrible sofa bed!! Not really how it looked in the brochure. Anyway we got in to our apartments, seconds later Stallos disappeared we had to find out about the safe etc and fan for our selves... Cheers what a help!!

As by now it was around 4-4.30am, people were fast asleep in next door apts so we didn

Where do I start?? The lack of maid service, the steps and hill, the ants, rowdy families and drunk 20-somethings or the lovely weather, nice pool setting, fantastic beach and great resort for young children??Or back to that hill!!

Totally not suitable for families with young children; ie:children in prams. I dont know how the Montemar can be described as family friendly...since when was 100 steps to your apartment and the entertainment stage set right beside the deep end of the pool, family-friendly???

four adults in an apartments and we waited 8 days for clean towels and another 2 days (making 10 in total) before we got clean sheets!! Yes we did keep asking and were always told they would be there. We were also not given any towels, sheets etc for the baby.

The noise here in September went on all day and all night - whoever has been to the Montemar and says the nosie stops at 11.30...well they were lucky because with us it was 3am and then you have the traditional slamming of doors and children running around liek wilde beasts. We saw glass bottles being picked out of the pool on our first morning which the other guests had thrown in. Its the only hotel that I know where you are allowed to swim, drunk at midnight!!

The staff were helpful when we needed them and got us moved after our first day as we were placed in what can only be described as the old shower block which was now tiny studios with sunbathers on top of you all day and with an 18month old trying to nap, was not very suitable. Im sure for people without babies, again it would have been fine.

We were moved to a 2 bed apartment which was great for 4 adults and we had a huge balcony which had the sun all day so was good for catching the sun when baby was asleep.

This was one of the best holidays I've been on. The pool was nice and big. The rooms were clean. I can not really comment on the entertainment as we went out a lot.

The food at the the snack bar was good. The only down side I've got is all the steps you have to climb to get to your apartment. Fantastic holiday definately go again.

I really loved this hotel a load of us went and we had a great time (although we kept getting told off by reception for jumping off the bridge into the pool).

The food was gorgeous especially the burgers and chips and cheese and ham toasties uum.

The entertainment was good and there was things to do in the day such as archery and darts competions and my sister and my uncle won cetificates.

It is up a hill but its not really a problem.

The pool was massive and we just had a great holiday.

The rooms were clean as well.

I went with a friend for a 2 week getaway. Yes the hills and the steps were taxing but the apartment on the third level was well worth it. Clean. overlooking the pool and with a huge balcony.

We had a few great nights in drinking wine and listening to the entertainment from out on the balcony. There is a brill bus service which takes you to Ibiza town, St eulalia or Es cana. We had a few nights out in St eulalia which is 10 mins away.

The beach was lovely and the restauraunts were too. We caught a boat one day to Ibiza town from the beach and spent a couple of evenings in the little entertainment bar at the bottom of the hill. Great for fun, rest and sun worshippers
