Have just returned from 2nd stay at Vista Blanes apartments. The rooms may seem basic but who stays inside all day! Only downside is lack of tv and air con, although ceiling fan in bedroom is godsend.

Pool area is very clean with large pool and separate children's pool which was superwarm. Have to be out early(about 7.45) with towel in hand to 'bag' best position round pool(My husband enjoyed this task!)

Entertainment is lead by Francesca who is always smiling. Try her aquaerobics or aquirerobics as she calls it-great fun and easy. Water-polo, volleyball and football organised by her and sidekick Christian.
Evening shows were good with tributes to Kylie, Abba, Freddie Mercury, Robbie Williams and also magic shows, karaoke, bingo, quizzes and BBQ every friday which is delicious. Bar staff friendly and prices ok. Beware prices of kids sweets/ice-creams more expensive in the bar than the complex shop.

Reception is clean with helpful staff who all speak good english.

A fabulous complex with the only downside being the location away from main attractions.

Just got back and although you may think the marks I have awarded are not very good (this is my opinion)we did have a good holiday. The apartments are in need of a little TLC/money spent. They are a good 15-25 minute walk from any 'life', but the wark is quite nice. One thing to look out for is all the dog's mess, the locals don't scoop the poop!!
The water park is small and quite expensive and fills up around 11.30 - 12.00. We went at 10.30 (opening time) and had several turnes on each of the main slides before 3-4 coaches of people arrived, standing around for 10-15 (for each slide)waiting in lines isn't my idea of a good time, my kids also got sick of it!
One thing I would reccomend, is have a walk on the coast road to Citaduella 35-40 minutes 'great views'.

We do think the apartments need updating and they are very basic. We actually stayed in a studio for couples and found that the beds were simply 2 camp beds put together that were very uncomfortable. We also thought the room stank of smoke as did the bedlinen. Our bedlinen was only changed once during our week stay and the towels only twice. We also found the fridge was not that cold and so we had to throw some of the food we brought away as it had gone off.

The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the fix it man who had to look at our fridge and shower. The food at the hotel was very reasonably priced and was delicious. We did not try their evening menu but had lunch and breakfast. The hotel shop was also good with fair prices.

The entertainment was good particularly if you had kids but we did walk into the resort centre every night. It was about a 15 min walk to all the bars, restaurants and shops but it was actually quite a nice walk.

The swimming pool was great and there were plenty of room and sunbeds around it. Although we did have to get up early every day to get good spaces. The beach was also nice and very clean. It was quite expensive to hire sun loungers like 9 euros each so find a space on the sand.

Overall we had a good week away but wouldn't come back to this hotel purely because we didn't feel the rooms were up to scratch. We wouldn't agree with Thomson giving this 3*s. Also we didn't like the resort as we could find hardly any Spanish food/tapas and some local Spanish were unfriendly.

The complex were six blocks of four storey apartments set around a large pool area, with a bar/retaurant at one end. The apartments were clean apart from a few tumbleweeds that appeared from under the beds and resonably well equiped. Towels and bed linen were often past their best and a bit shabby but were clean and replaced fairly regularly. There is no air conditioning in the apartments and they were unbearably hot at night. There was no TV either. The complex was well maintained and general ares kept clean.

The maintenance staff were prompt and efficient and replaced a bathroom light that fell off the wall within half an hour.

Reception were generally helpful but could however sometimes be abrupt. While awaiting for a taxi in reception on one particularly rainy day a lady guest came into reception and asked if there was a local weather forcast. The receptionist on duty replied sarcastically by looking out of the window and stating that it was raining. The guest appeared embarrassed and apoligised for asking!

The swimming pool is large, clean and set in an attractive area surrounded by palm trees and garden. There were plenty of sunbeds. The use of the pool was however spoiled by the use of large inflatable boats an large water pistols that were sold at the complex supermarket. there were so many boats on one day it looked more like a regatta.

This apartment complex is not suitable for adult parties without children. The entertainment is generally geared towards children, although there was a good Freddy Mercury tribute act one night in the 2 weeks.Bingo kareoke and quiz nights are not really my idea of holiday entertainment. The bar area was overun by children tearing about until the closing time of midnight when all the lights were turned off and you were unceremoniously left to finish the drinks you had been sold at 5 to midnight in the pitch dark.

The Thomson reps at the Complex were on site for welcome meetings. Information for the reps was limited. We were not told that we had to empty our own bins and take all the rubbish to collection points in the street, consequently there were some bags of rubbish left to ferment in the corridors.

When we arrived at the Complex it was about 10pm. The supermarket had been closed a while and by the time we found our apartment and got back down so was reception. So we had no idea where to get bottled water or any supplies at all, no information had been given by the rep as to where the nearest open shop was. We ended up having a meal in the complex bar restaurant which was not very hot. One pork chop was pink and undercooked.

On leaving the apartment on our last day, we didn't leave until 5.30pm and had to vacate rooms bt 10am. We requested to pay for an extra few hours in the room but were told that the apartments were fully booked. We could however see there were some unoccupied. The answer to this problem was addressed by booking a shower slot in a courtesy room. The slots were 20 mins and no more which meant some families had to shower and dress 4 people in the 20 min slot. Quite a feat!!If you didn't get a slot it was tough. In practice it was a total farce with people queing up for the showers getting iritated if anyone ran over and total chaos in the luggage room outside the showers trying to get clean clothes out of cases and repack them. There were also no clean towels, you had to take the ones from your room in the morning but not everyone was told this.

Due to a regular intake of Gin and Tonic and a very good sense of humour on the whole i enjoyed my holiday but i would'nt go there again.

Hello just returned from the Vista Blanes apartments for what was our seventh visit!(and we are certain,it will not be our last!)it just gets better and better every year!

I would recomend it to any family and to quote a phrase, it`s fun for all! We all had a fantastic time! This has to rank as one of the most reasonably priced, cleanest and friendliest places to visit.

The staff, from the managent to the cleaners are all friendly and helpful,we have hardly seen a change of staff in all the times we have visited,we love Francesca(entertainment) tidy clean rooms, great entertainment!

Great pool! Great people! Lively during the day/evening and peaceful at night.
`viva` vista banes! until the next time.

a fantastic place for a family to stay. Very clean, towels and bedding changed very every couple of days. Lively in the day time with plenty of things to do for the kids. but quiet a night with everything stopping at 12pm. Every morning the whole pool and surrounding areas are washed down. Just a short walk away is Los Delphines a busy resort, again great for families. We spent our days at the pool and in the evening walked down to the resort. Be careful of the jelly fish ni the sea at the small beach. there is a "swap box " by the kids club where you can get all your buckets spades lilo's etc that havebeen left by previous guests. Highly recommended!

Just got back from the Vista Blanes. Spent a week there and although we had a good time a week was enough.

We were very impressed with the complex when we arrived, 6 blocks surrounding a superb pool. Only ate at the hotel once and the waiter virtually threw the plates on the table.

About 90% of the staff struggled to smile but the reception and the reps were superb and very helpful. The entertainment was poor to say the least, the entertainment was run by the hotel and not Thomson/Skytours.

The beach is only 5 mins away but beware of the jellyfish I've never seen so many in one place! The hotel is a good 15 min walk to the lively area of Los Delfines which is very good for families.

Its a pity the hotel is where it is because if it was nearer to the town it would be a superb place to holiday.

Went self catering, only tried resturant twice..once for lunch..ordered a bacon bagette..well I think there was bacon in there somewhere.

Dinner was different.you got loads..well worth the money.

The apartments were basic but clean..location was good..nice and quiet, but the entertainment could of been better..it's the only place I've been to when the kids disco is on at 7pm...I know from past experience that by the time you've got the kids out of the pool..got them showered and fed 7 o'clock has been and gone.

The hotel ran the entertainment..the least said about that, the better..it felt like we were just dumped there and forgotten about..especially when you went passed other Thomson hotels and the reps were there entertaining everyone.
