The complex was constantly getting cleaned. The high standards are always maintained, but without causing interference with your relaxation. The entertainment was excellent. Didn't think I was the 'entertainment' type but I honeslty enjoyed every performance there was, as did the kids. The kids? Who are they? We hardly saw my 2 children as there was always something on for them to do. And me!

Son Bou is a quiet family resort with a Spectacular Beach. It is very safe for children, and easily accessible by car or on foot from the villas & apartments.
There are many bars & restaurants to cater for the summer tourists. We booked a self catering villa with www.son-bou.com, which allowed us the privilege of a hire car for our holiday. Son Bou is very well serviced for a weeks' holiday, but we found the car invaluable during our 2 week stay to visit other areas of the island. Although Son Bou has many restaurants, they are geared towards the tourist market and many more traditional restaurants can be found in Mahon Harbour, about 10 minutes drive away. Mahon also has many hypermarkets, which offer a greater selection of food & wine at much cheaper prices than in the resort itself. The Resort Supermarkets are adequate, but the hypermarkets are well advised for a 2 or 3 week stay.
Son Bou is the best place on the island to stay, but the island is small and can easily be visited from end to end. A must is Mahon Harbour, Mahon Town, Cuitadella & Fornells.

As this was our first holiday abroad in 6 years and we had a 5 year old with us we did not venture out much. However, there seemed to be plenty of shops and bars about and everyone was very welcoming. I did not notice any entertainment available but that doesn't mean there wasn't any. Overall it seemed a quiet resort but that may have been the time of year. I really liked the place and the beach was fantastic.

There are a variety of restaurants and bars in the resort centre, we highly recommend 'Casa Andre's' a family run spanish restaurant with excellent service and food. Many of the locals eat here which is always a good sign and you have to book a table to avoid dissapointment. We also enjoyed Boni's restaurant, also providing good food and very friendly service. There are 2 talking parrots here which proved to be a good source of entertainment for the little ones!

We didn't come across much resort entertainment in the way of discos, however, with a couple of 4 year olds and an 18 month old we weren't paticularly in search of all night rave ups! There is a small fun fair which is home to a bouncy castle, water hovercraft etc which keeps the younger ones happy.

Fabulous beach at Son Bou stretching for about 4 miles. There is a duck pond among the reed bed at the back of the beach which is also home to a few friendly terrapins!

Number of supermarkets to choose from in the resort, some more expensive than others so it is worth shopping around.

lovely beach with life guards and flagged....
would recommend car hire to isit the whole island as buses are ok but get extremely busy and is a free for all with germans and itailians pushing and shoving so ended up most trips standing and the drivers do sardine pack the bus!!
Nice shops and felt very safe around the island.
was lovely can't wait to return.

The resort it's self is very clean and modern. There was a lot of bars with entertainment but we were in before 11.00 most nights with our 2 year old. I don't thnk I would go there looking for night life, more of a family resort. In general I found eating out in the rest very uninteresting plenty cafe type food. We went to the chinese on the main street loads it was excellent. There are a lot of private villas there and its very purpose arranged. We felt very safe there I would recomend it to families with young children, not much for older children.

The best restaurent that we went was Boni's. It was very frendly and welcoming, they reserve talbles for you for what ever position you would like.
The bar that we went to was brillient it was decorated in a hawaii theme and they deliver cocktails and your drinks in roller blades they have a arcade there for children and adults.
The beach was good for children as long as you are not near the nudist beach. They have peadaloes have slide attached to them. i would deffinaatly return to son boi again!!!!! ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY!!!
