The resort was as previously stated a good 30 to 60 min walk down the sea front path to the town of Calete and the beaches, which were excellent, partcullarly the small coves near the Atlantico centre.
The walk was fun and varied daily dependng on the sea breeze and the chip monks.
Nuevo Horizonte the area that the la piramide hotel is situated in is currently being developed so can at times be a little dusty, but this did not spoil our holiday.
This place is a must if you want a peaceful, cheap yet fun Family holiday.

Costa Antigua has nothing really but Caleta de Fuste was lovely and Corralejo was beautiful on the beaches.

Caleta was a fantastic resort with all you would expect from a holiday resort. Beautiful beach crystal clear sea great bars and lots of resturants.
Even though its so close to the airport there is little or no noise from aircraft.
Fuerteventura is a beach lovers paradise but you will need a car to get the best from the island.
We will definitley be returning very soon!

The area where La Pyramide is located is very quiet and there isn't a lot to do. In fact, ironically, one of the most astounding sites is the deserted 'Tourist center' on the coast - an amazing white structure and compound that can be seen by peering over the wall. It's been deserted for a couple of years apparently, but i can imagine it was quite something when it was first opened.
Really, this resort could be lovely with the building work finished and a little bit of investment. The great point about it is the location - ten minutes from the airport and the capital Puerto de Rosario. Plus it's quite central to explore the north and south of the island should you wish to hire a car.
The coastal path walk into Caletta de Fuste is a breathtaking site - sharp jagged black cliffs and crashing waves. There is no beach here - the closest one is in Caletta. The walk is about 40 mins but i always like a bit of exercise on holiday. Plus the amazing part is the virtually tame chipmunks who live in the rocks - they take nuts from your hands.
Plus a ride back to Nuevo Horizonte is only 3-4 euros, if you're too tired for the walk back.
All in all, Fuerteventura is a facinating place, I was very happy with every aspect of my holiday - hotel and resort.

Very nice island as long as you go to the right part. Caleta de Fuste is really nice which is about 40 min walk from the hotel or 3euros 80 by taxi, or there is a free bus from the hotel at 10:30am and returns back to the hotel at 5:30pm.
The sea is really clear and you can see the fish swimming round you, entertainment in Caleta is quite good if you go as a couple or as a family but not for a big group off guys or gals I think it would then be quite boring.

The resort of Costa Antigua was terrible! It really looks like a building site and there was nowhere to go. We hired a car from the airport for a week which was good value. The walk to Caleta de Fuste is about 30 minutes along the seafront and I think there are buses that go aswell and apparently taxis are cheap.
There is no beach just rocky black cliffs.
Caleta de fuste is just a modern resort for english people, ok if you want fry ups and sunday roasts. the beach is very big but also feels very man made. go up to the north if you want to find some lovely beaches and hide in one of the sand dunes!

Neuvo Horizonte a very quiet place, not ideal at all if you like the night life or a choice of entertainment. Beaches are rocky not sandy but there is a small horse shoe shaped bay in Caleta De Fuste which is within walking distance with sandy beaches (about 30 mins from La Pyramide appts). There is a lovely walk by the sea from Neuvo to Caleta with a lit paved area and watch out for the chip munks along the way! Would not recommend the walk at night for females: it is a bit remote and we felt a bit exposed even during the day when you pass by a large building site.
There is a regular free beach bus from la pyramide appartments into Caleta de Fuste, and this resort is recommended as there is more choice of restuarants, shops and cafes. However, we found it very quiet at night particularly towards the end of the holiday which surprised us.
Recommend the saturday morning market at caleta and it's definitely worth hiring a car to tour the island for a day.
Standard of food generally good, particuarly recommend Le Patio restaurant and the Steakhouse (massive plate bender steaks). Reasonable prices. The Rock cafe appears fairly lively with live entertainment and potent cocktails.
We enjoyed our time there, and it was very similar to Lanzarote. Very clean resort,locals friendly and do not hassle you to eat/drink their bars. If you enjoy a quiet holiday then it's the ideal place to come. If you like a bit of night life/clubbing then it's not the place for you.

the resort is faily clean considering it is pretty much a building site with new apartments being built all around.
to be honest the building works never bothered us, don't actually know if any was going on while we were there cos we never heard them!!
very quiet resort with little entertainment, couple of nice bars but nothing rowdy.
needed to go to caleta de fuste for a beach but once there its beautiful, although the walk along the rocky path by the sea to caleta is just a beautiful.
am already booked to go back this year.
