We really enjoyed our stay at Imperial Samui. We had a wonderful warm welcome from the receptionist who checked us in, who sat us in the lobby bar, gave us a complimentary drink and went through all the check in formalities. She then walked us to our room, the luggage followed with the bell boys, and made sure we were happy with the room before she left. We were very pleased with the room, the only downside it was at the top of the hotel so we had a steep walk back to the room from the beach which included steep paths and steps. Not good if you are less mobile - but good exercise! Breakfasts were really good - plenty of choice, whatever you wanted including Asian, continental, full breafast etc. Scrambled eggs or omlettes made to order, excellent range of fruits and cereals, pancakes, waffles, croisants, full range of bread made by the hotel. excellent!

Cleaning in the room was excellent, we had a good range of shower gels and shampoo to use. their is a good hairdryer in the room - dont bother with your own. you receive welcome fruit in your room on the day you get there and then we were left some cakes on our last but one day - nice touches. they also do a turndown of your room in the evening and leave little flowers on the sheets. there is a mini bar in the room too which wasnt too overpriced.

There are 2 pool areas, a seawater pool by the beach and a fresh water pool at the top of the hotel. Plenty of sunbeds and free use of towels whilst at the pool which you collected from a counter.

The beach bar and the pool bar were very good, and we frequented these for lunch, they served usual favourites like burger and chips, club sandwich etc but also served some thai foods. We also ate in the Tara Restuarant in the evening a couple of times - we only wanted light meals so they were happy for us to order off the lunch menu rather than the full a la carte which was really good of them.

the staff were really good and really helpful, very friendly.

we used the courtesy bus into Chaweng a few times (50 bt each) and then made our own way back to the hotel later either by Songthiew or taxi. we walked it once and it took 45 minutes - it was a bit hot and humid - not really a good idea!

Some other good restaurants near by to the hotel - Beach Love and Charming on the beach which were both very good, although we gave Charming the edge. Also The Gourmet Terrace, just down the road 150 yards towards Chaweng - this we thought was the best of these 3 for us.

The hotel is low key in the evenings, there is a band that plays at the beach bar, but nothing other than this. this suited us as we only want meals and a few drinks in the evening.

The hotel is approx 10 mins from main area Chaweng, transport cost 50 baht each way just outside the hotel.

We found the beach was nice and the hotel has 2 pools. The top pool was always quiet because it was very hot and no breeze.

All food and drinks are signed to your room and laundry was cheap.

We upgraded to a premier sea facing room and it was very nice. The bathroom as huge. The basic rooms are a bit dark as the flooring is wood, however the hotel told me they are upgrading next year.

All the meals were good and reasonable on price. Every evening you could choose between buffet or a la carte and always band or show. If you walk down the beach I highly recommend beach love restaurant. Tables are on the beach and we enjoyed all our meals.

The staff at the Imperial are wonderful and made our holiday.

The only down side to this hotel, it is on a steep hillside. Anyone with walking or breathing problems may struggle with the walk/steps and heat/humidity. The hotel is on terraces and could be a problem for some people

Nice 4 star hotel and I would stay again. Top marks for just been away from the hussle and bussle of the main area and all the staff work hard to make your stay enjoyable
