Would reccomend the resort Side - I think it would suit you. (However, don't know about the fishing - all I know is the fish in the sea bite!). We stay at the Arum hotel, it has AI, half-board, and other options, lovely pools, and a comfortable, safe atmosphere.

Hi all,

Thanks for all your suggestions so far, all of them sound fantastic and just what we are looking for. However, the prices the mainstream tour operators are asking seem to be rather extreme, considering we went AI to the Caribbean last year for a third of the price.

We are now considering whether we can book directly with the hotel and then shop around for flights. It has to be cheaper :que

Again, we would welcome all your advice & suggestions on the above.

Kindest Regards

You can book the Arum hotel in side with Thomas Cook and Direct Holidays B/B for 2024 for all three of you 4th August 14 nights from Gatwick to Antalya , you can then upgrade to A/I on arrival.

From the East Midlands 6th August its £2114

Here is the web site for the Arum hotel, and its just been refurbished.

The price of the Belcekiz Beach and Lykia World is sky high.

You would certainly think so netghost, but don't be surprised if it isn't, I have been actively searching now for our holiday for August, and have yet to be able to find cheaper DIY than booking a package with where we are looking at going. The prices are changing quite dramatically at the moment. On monday I obtained a price from Thomsons for Lykia world for £1076 per person for the two of us (one adult one child) but when I went back to book it the next day having been told "its a great price" by our Lykia Experts here on the boards, the price had increased to £1476 and £1976 per person :( but neither can I get anywhere near those prices doing it DIY . . .

My advice is to shop around, but if you're definitely wanting to get something booked, if you see it book it.

Also, I have only been to Olu abut absolutely love it, there is only myself and my 8 year old son, but we have been for the past 2 years now and just love it. It certainly meets what you're looking for, and there's loads of places nearby which you can get to quite easily.

Before I went to Turkey, I always thought I wouldn't like it, but now I find such a draw back to it, that I could quite easily move permanently LOL

Hope you find something!

having been to most resorts in turkey, i would recommend the olu deniz area, the veiws are beautiful and the lagoon gorgeous. as john recommended lykia world and belcekiz beach i completely agree with this, both great hotels, ive just booked these hotels, lykia world as a diy and saved loads of money, i booked this through monarch hotels and olu deniz resort through alpharooms and went through topcashback site to get a further 5% cashback this site was the cheapest when i booked a lot cheaper than booking direct. have a look at some of these sites to book hotels through

Booking the Arum direct would cost just over £3000 the Thomas Cook and Direct Holidays prices are good, the hotel was £3300 with Thomas Cook and Direct holidays just over a week ago. I was looking for somebody I know.

Have you seen the price for Lykia World for August its £2000 p/p with thomson, there are much better hotels in turkey in that price bracket what are ultra A/I, Lykia World Residence Hotel is £1308

I think if people who recommend Lykia World knew the price they wouldn't recommend it.

The Belcekiz Beach Hotel is £1166 p/p

Royal Dragon colakli near side. 5* A/I 11 water slides, mini funfare, private beach. £1050 pp with travel republic

I think if you can get a good price on either the Belcekic Beach, the Olu Deniz Resort or possibly Club Sun City all of these would meet your requirements. The BB does take a few direct bookings although they seemed to be mainly from Turkish people. TUI seem to have the hotel pretty much covered otherwise. It would be a good hotel for you though as most rooms take three and you should still get a child price for your daughter at 11.

Lykia is brilliant I went last summer, but it is off the beaten track and you cant walk anywhere, Although the grounds themselves are huge. You can see the lights twinkling at night if you stand on the main Belcekic Beach and look to the left.

You will need cabs in and out to go to the little town. Public Taxis are not allowed down there, Lykia has it's own cab service which is very efficient. I don't think we ever had to wait for more than a few mins for a cab and they always collected us at exactly the time we specified for our return journey.

Good Luck, I think it would suit you in Olu D. Re the prices unfortunately if you want something that is good quality, particularly the food, as this is where a lot of the hotels money will be spent, you tend to have to pay for it.

mike thomsons prices for lykia are quite dear, ive only paid £450 for 3 of us for a week in oct with monarch hotels which i think for lykia world is a fantastic price :tup , i havent looked at prices for aug but i can imagine them being a lot higher. it really is fab though,we are staying a week there and a week in olu deniz resort hotel

the belcekiz beach looks great but the prices i was getting even for oct were double lykia worlds prices, sadly this hotel seems to have had a big price increase , shame because i fancied trying that :duh
