Is it Costa Brava you've decided to go to? If so look at Tossa de Mar. If you're unsure where you'd like to go on holiday try posting in our General Holiday enquiry forum:- http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=45

You don't say what age your family is which may have a bearing on your destination.
We 2 OAP's just love Tossa de Mar and have been going now for twenty years although it has everything we could ask for beautiful quite location tree lined promenade, old town with winding streets a new town with shopping lots of bars, cafes restruants.
There are one or two things to entertain younger people and there are three disco's that come alive late at night.
The beach , sand (course shingle) and severe slope into deep water may be an issue if your family are not strong swimmers but this is typical of most Costa Brava resorts
You may wish to look at two websites :-

I don't mean to sound too negative as it is a beautiful place.

Hope this helps!

we also love tossa de mar. have to agree with the last post about the slope into the sea but that is the only negative we can say. hotel wise i will always stay at the tossa centre or tossa beach. same hotels next to each other.
