only direct flights i can find are from Heathrow/Gatwick/ luton

If you want direct flights only, your options are pretty limited from the given airports. From Manchester, your only option is Turkish Airlines. There aren't any direct services from Leeds-Bradford or East Midlands. I don't think £195 is too bad unless you want to travel via a european hub or from a London airport. If you don't mind a connection, I've seen flights at £125 return. Try Cheapflights.co.uk. Easyjet are probably the cheapest direct from Gatwick.
