Hi meg_m ! You could take the girls down to Cardiff for the day for a spot of shopping and a look around the millenium stadium. There's also an ice skating rink and loads of nice places to eat.

Helen, I thought they'd closed the ice rink??? Also Cardiff castle but I think that may be closed too at the moment.

Newport is quite nice for shopping and there's the suspension bridge
