The roads are poor and the drivers even worse.
Its also mor expensive to hire than other countries.
Its cheap to get a taxi - but haggle prices before getting in one. We went to main road outside resort - cheaper than in resort.
Buses are even cheaper.

I hired a car before in SB, I addmit roads arent very good out off the resort, but in the resorts are OKish.

I use a company who gets a car for 25 euro per day, very good company, and that way you can collect from bourgas airport and drive down.
