Hi Ros Which resort are you going to? Cheers Jayjan

Hi jayjan, we are going to areias de sao joao, staying at choro mar apartments. Do you know the area well? If so, how far is it to the strip? got conflicting reports of the reviews, some say 10 mins some say 30!!! Dont mind the walk though. Cheers. Ros.

Less than 10 minutes to the top of the strip Ros, loads of pubs, kids welcome in all of them, just take a stroll down the strip and take your pick. Coconuts has connect 4 and a pool table.

thanks algarveadick, we'll try coconuts. Would you know of any cheap eating places there? Someone has just told me thats its very expensive to eat in albuferia.

It is certainly not 'very expensive' to eat in Albufeira compared to most UK places. For example, not far from the Choro Mar is the Happy House chinese restaurant where you can eat all you want for €8.95, drinks extra. That's £6.

Albufeira is more costly than some other parts of Portugal without doubt but you should be able to eat out at a reasonable cost.

A walk down 'The Strip' will take you past restaurants of every type and description and many offer a fixed price 'dish of the day'.

There are a couple of bars called coconuts across road from each other and they both do kids shows. There are parrots on one night and we went down to see a Michael Jackson impersonator who was v good I thought and was interacting with the kids in the bar loads

have a good time

I'm sure the act was good, but you might want to rephrase the line about Jacko interacting with the kids

Am watching the post with interest as we're going in Jul/Aug with kids the same age as yours rosrobo

There is loads of good bars for familys on and around the strip. We go again in a couple of weeks with our kids who are now 8 & 3. there is a bar called the Casablanca bar which is part of the Thomson Superfamily Vilanova complex but it is right on the strip and open to anybody. It has got all the usual Superfamily entertainment kids mini disco, live shows etc.
Got to agree that Coconuts is another good place to go too but like i said there is plenty to choose from.
For a good meal try the Rovers return pub, it's on the road running adjacent to the strip, they do a great sunday lunch at a very good price :hyper

Hi Alex, if you are talking about the Rovers Return on Estrada St Eulalia it closed down late last summer and it is now a Portuguese restaurant specialising in Pork from the black pig. Or could there be another Rovers Return? Cheers Jayjan
