Yes, Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Basel, Colmar, Selestat, Obernai .... why?

hope one of you very helpful people out there can advise me on this
one. We would like to go either brussels or bruges early december
for 2 or 3 nights for xmas market trip on eurostar-as i can't fly at
the moment-which would be the better city or market to stay at cos i
cannot decide between the two, they both look nice.
Or would Lille be better?

Lille is very nice for the Christmas markets and also for shopping in general. I have also been to Brussels and from there you could get a train to Bruge for the day. Both have markets but if you were only going to do one then Brussels would be my choice.
