Cyprus at Easter - I'm puzzled

Hi -

I've never been to Cyprus before but my friend has just bought a villa there (lucky girl

). She has invited me over for the week following Easter weekend, so I just need some cheap flights from Manchester.
We are hiring a car so I'm not really too bothered which airport we land at.

However, I've been looking at fligts for a few days and have been surprised at the lack of availability already on some of the more reasonable carriers...namely XL (who appear to have had a flight but it is full) and Cyprus airways (from whom I can't even get a price to come up) for this period. Is this pretty typical ? I had no idea it would be so difficult this far out.

Any reason for this, and anywhere else I could try for flights ...so far First Chioce are cheapest but these are nearly £200 which seems alot (or is it ?)

easter doesn't have that many charter flights.. as for £200.00 for that week is a good price i tried to book flights only for next week from London and the cheapest at the time was £240.00 so we are going to Crete instead,, if you look back to where others have asked the same question on cheap flights you will find the answer..IE. there is no such thing as a cheap flight to Cyprus (no budget airlines fly there) you may occasionally find a bargain.

Easter is the BIG holiday here on Cyprus, even over Christmas, many Cypriots fly home for the holiday and you may be lucky to find ''cheap'' flights.

£200 very reasonable. it is over 2000 nautical miles from the UK, twice the distance of Spain, so it will never be that cheap. good luck though.

p.s Easter is a fantastic time to be on the island.
