We are also going to DR in March. looking at some other forums its the dry season in March so although you probably will get a few they shouldn't be a huge problem.

Also I have heard that most of the resorts spray repellent on a regular basis to keep numbers at bay. but if you are thinking of excusions you might meet a few!

We are still taking repellent and also taking malaria tabs as the area still has a malaria risk.
