Exchanging money question

Hi,
I'm going to Golden Sands next week , my first trip to Bulgaria and Im just looking for a little advice. I was going to change my money over here, but my friend wants to change hers in Bulgaria as she thinks the rates will be better? Does anyone know if they are?

Also Im going Self catering for a fortnight, how much money would you advise to take? I dont want to go mad, just to be able to do some watersports and buy a couple of presents.

Hi Karen.

As youre friend suggests change your money over there you get a better rate in the resort but only use either crown exchanges or the desk in the hotel . if yo want to buy quite a lot of clothes while you are there and taking in to account food and drink somewhere about £6 or 7 hundred pounds should see you bringing some back but is handy to have a cash card with you for emergencies. :wink:

Just got back today went into Golden Sands a few times and the exchange rate was 2.80 lev only use the crown boothes or the banks. Hope this helps,

I would no longer recommend the Crown Exchanges as fake ones have been reported on that thread. Use only hotel receptions and proper banks.
