Hello, this is my first post.
My wife and i are arriving in the early hours of sept 7th,we will be staying at the Filoxenia apartments in Tholos for two weeks if you dont mind i have some questions.
How far is it to Tholos and the cost of a taxi from the airport.
Is there a regular bus service to Rhodes town and other parts of the island.
If we went to Symi for a couple of days would we have trouble finding accomodation without pre booking.
Has anyone ever stayed at the Filoxenia an where is it located in Tholos.

Hi chubbs, well i don't know Filoxenia but can help you with a few of your questions.
Tholos is only 10 minutes from the airport and the fare will be around 12 euros.
There is a regular bus service to take you into Rhodes Town or in the opposite direction, a little further down the west coast. The bus stops at Paradissi, Kremasti, Trianda (nearest stop for Filerimos) and Ixia on it's way into town. The east coast is run by a separate bus company so for any destinations that side of the island you'd need to go into town then change.
You're just out of the peak season so finding accommodation on arrval in Symi shouldn't be a problem. There are usually people hanging around as the boats come in to offer accommodation or just ask around in the local restaurants, shops, etc.
