We are flying to Bangkok and the getting a connecting flight with Bangkok airways to Samui.
A couple of questions.
Approx how long should it take us to collect luggage and find our way to the domestic terminal?
Will we have to pass through passport control?

It does nt take long at all, the domestic flights leave from the floor above, same building
At least Bangkok Airways flights leave from the same(new) airport. A lot of internal flights leave from the old Don Muang airport.
If you collect your bags at Bangkok then you will need to go through immigration etc so allow plenty of time. It is efficient(IMHO) but is a big place.
