Try the hotel Beacon

http://www.beaconhotel.com/index.htm

its on the upper west side 5 mins walk to central park, theres a bus stop oppsite which takes you to times square or its a 25 min walk, also a subway stop as well 1 min away, reasonably priced restaurant next door as well, hotel prices not cheap in new york but its a lovely hotel in a quiet location but not far from everything you need to see...i really enjoyed our stay.

they do a 2 bedroom suite on website, and it looks nice, but theres no price and when i tryed to check booking reservation site didnt seem to be working, best bet would be to e-mail the hotel...

stopped 3 times in NY and the size of rooms there in NY can be very small,Beacon have large rooms for NY but only problem i see will be the price but the rooms are lovely.

price worked later ouch...its around £200 a night.

you may be better with the 1 bedroom suite..kids have the room with 2 double beds...you and hubby have the sofa bed..Finding a room large enough for you and at a decent price...wont be easy i reckon...sure somebody on here will help better.

Try the Doubletree Hotel, Times Square - prices are always high but you can get a two bedroom suite for around $450 - that is less than two separate rooms - or Radio City apartments - I have not used them but they get good reviews on here. Rooms include a kitchenette, which is handy with a family.

ETA- look at the Edison Hotel, it is 2 blocks from Times Square, very popular location- their prices look better - https://www.reservations-page.com/c00000/h00095/bemobile.aspx for two bedroom suites

We were due to be there boxing day ( ended up in Chicago due to the snow). We had booked the Cosmopoliton for two adults and two teenagers. It was recommended by a friend who lives in NY.

It is a 10 min subway ride to Times Square, but walking distance from Ground Zero, Staten Island Ferry to see the skyline and Statue of Liberty. Plenty of cheap places to eat round there as well.

It gets good reviews as well. :)

salwal47,stayed at the crowne plaza last october half term, with our 15 year old.this hotel was situated right in times square opposite the m&m shop and next door to hersheys, tour buses 1 minutes walk away from front door.excellent resteraunts nearby although suprised at the prices in these.not sure if they done two bedroom suites or not but it was busy with families and business people alike, we asked about getting two rooms but the reception staff would not entertain a reduction on the second room, but well worth the stay and would go backto this hotel.
