There is a specialist naturist area which is secluded from the rest of the hotel. Other than deliberately looking for it, you won't see any naked bodies anywhere else.

Thanks for that - it's put my mind at rest. What about the general beach area around the hotel anyone?

I've just got back from another visit to the Fuerteventura Princess (the hotel next door to the Occidental Grand) and the beach out the back of both hotels is still absolutely stunning... there can be strong currents on windy days though, so do be aware of this.

A word to the wise though - most if not all of the beaches on Fuerteventura are "clothing optional", so it's likely that you may see the odd naturist just about anywhere, but they tend to be the exception rather than the rule... I only saw the odd one or two on my beach visits, and nobody went out of the way to flaunt themself.

Hi the naturist part of the hotel is separate and we did not find it a problem. However when we went there were only a handful of UK guests with the majority of Germans. We had heard that a couple of the UK tour operators were not doing the Occidental anymore. Something to bear in mind.

Have not been to the occidental (going there this year) but went to the princes next door which also has a naturist area.

Not a problem as both hotels have the areas seperate and away from the normal pools etc.

There are a few on the beach, but i didnt notice anyone flaunting themselves.

All beaches are clothes optional on the island, although the main areas outside the hotels are generally occupied by swimsuited bodies.

Most of the germans dont care and nudity for them is normal, so it does only tend to be the brits and the italians who get bothered.

Dont worry about it and enjoy your hol. Jandia is a great place.
