Strikers ground Wednesday's Greece flights

A general strike in Greece tomorrow will mean flights to and from the country will be cancelled.

Air traffic controllers have warned that no planes will be allowed to take off or land for 24 hours from Wednesday. Ferries operating into Piraeus will also stop running.

Unions from the public and private sector across Greece are staging the strike in response to government austerity measures.

All public transport in the country will be affected.

The strikes coincide with the Greek government's discussions this week on how to get the country out of its colossal debt. It has already received a 110 billion euro bailout from the EU and the IMF.
