I'm looking at having my Stag weekend in Las Americas in September this year.
The reason for this as a destination is a culmination of a few details...
It's fairly cheap to get to, the weather at that time of year should be very good, and lastly, i visited there back in my party days. I believe it was between around 1990-1996. I went about 4 or 5 times in all, and always came back with a smile on my face and a good tan.
In any case, now (a young) 35, I'm going out there for my Stag with around 8 to 10 friends all around the same age. FYI we'll be going for two nights
We're by no means a rowdy bunch, and prefer a laugh, a quiet beer or 10 and a nice bar or pub.
A few shots probably wouldn't go a miss, but acting like idiots, fighting, wearing football shirts and annoying the locals is definitely NOT on the agenda.
My brother as Best Man has the unfortunate task of arranging this jaunt, and has picked a few hotels under the advisement of our local Travel Agent.
Most important is the location to (hopefully) many bars, restaurants & a nice pool &/or the beach in close proximity.
A hotel that caters more towards adults is obviously preferred. Things like the 'on-site' food etc at the hotel, are not really of concern (we may book B&B)... although a nice bar would be a bonus.
Any thoughts on the shortlist would be appreciated, and any advice on any others that we should consider would be great.
As i say, location is number one, really.
Oh, by the way, I hear rumours that 'the strip' has been completely re-developed in recent years.
Is this still 'the place to be'?
