My sister and I are planning to go to Spain in February, it will during half term because my sister works in a school..We are trying to decide where to go. What is the best and the warmest place. We are both young at heart fifty somethings. Leaving our families at home, we decided on this months ago because we lost out Mum this year, and decided to have a holiday together.
We did consider Benidorm, she has been before, I haven't, Gran Canaria, we haven't been there, but I have been to Lanzarote, and the Costa Del Sol.
Any suggestions and advice on resorts weather etc would be gratefully appreciated.

We usually go to Gran Canaria in the winter. It isnt quite like Lanzarote and doesnt seem to have as much of a breeze as Lanzarote either. We usually go to Puerto Rico in GC and have a nice time. The beach is good and there are 2 commercial centres with some lively bars and restaurants. If you have an aprtment/hotel that doesnt have a heated pool, there is also the public lido (heated) near the beach too (small charge) that is quite nice.
The nicest resort in my opinion is Puerto de Mogan if you like a small pretty place. We went for the first time in September and have already booked up for next year. If you can push the boat out the hotel Cordial Mogan Playa is about the best hotel we've been to! Not keen on the Canaries as I much prefer the Balearic islands but have decided to make an exception for this hotel and resort.
