Hi Pat,tenirfe gardens is in a great location, hundreds of bars and restaurants to go for, also laguna park 1 is quite cheap and next door,we stay down the road at club atlantis,a little dearer than the ones you mention, but they are realy classy, heres a couple of web sites to try.

The patch is only around a 20 min stroll away or around 4 euros in a taxi, but im sure you would love the area round tenirfe gardens,my girlfriend always used to stay round the patch area, but wouldnt stay round there again after staying round the torviscas area.
hope this helps.

tenerife gardens i can't comment, but a bit to far out for me.

playa olid, def to far out for what you want.

Club olympus/garden city, is a fab complex, some apts are privately owned, there is 2 pools here. And i think that this is in a great location. It is a different area than your used to, but there are some fantastic bars in this area. I'm only 41 and i would stay in this area. Infact when i stay each year at palm beach i spend a good few nights down this area.

the bars around here are, and this area has a lot to offer

Kormacks - just getting going again
pheasant plucker, buzzing every night
temple bar - 2 of the best irish singers on each night, great bar
san eugino - 3 different acts on every night a brilliant bar, only shuts late
Amandas - again different acts on nightly
harleys - american diner cocktail bar

Your only a 10 min stroll from puerto colon which again at night has some great bars, kitty o sheas is a brilliant irish bar.

Also if you come out of the back of garden city and walk down the side of the motorway (your not actually on it) you can walk it down to the parque de las paz strip, in about 20 mins or 5 euros in a taxi as escanatiger said.

If your intending on spending your time in and around the patch, strip (parque de la paz) area  then i would rather stay up that area.

There are loads of private rented apts on santiago 1 and 2 on these websited.

I've seen a few on santiago 2 and they look wonderful inside and they are not that expensive.

Thanks for replies, guys.
The garden city apt is a privately owned one but I got put off it after I read the last reviews about it here on HT.
Also I believe there is a hotel called Tenerife Gardens but it is not that, it is apartments called TINERFE gardens??
Any more comments, folks?

Tinerfe is located next door to the san eugino shopping center, i don't know about the accommodation, but the loaction is good for the bars that i mentioned.

Olympia

i can't seem to think of this one. Are you sure your not on about club olympus, which is garden city. I have a freind who has a private apt on this complex, and ive had friends who have stayed on this complex. And i would recommend this to you.

Playa olid is still playa olid and i would say a bit out for your needs.

can you give us links to the pages with the accommodation on.

or rather tell us what your looking for on what dates and i will see what i can find for you.

agree with that wickedchris, we stayed in a beautiful 2 bed apartment on ps2, fantastic, a real home from home, with everything you could need, fantastically furnished and spotless, even had proper fluffy towels !
It is next door to the patch, but didn't find it noisy at night at all.
got this one off holidaylettings, propertyref.11151,
hope this helps,

Chris, it's definitely Olympia.....I saw it on the map, it's behind Bonanza and Borinquen and next to Poderosa if that helps!!!
Juby, 2 beds too big for 2 of us, why spend beer money on something we don't need!!!!

Ahhhh got it

now i know where it is, it's a bit quiet round this area, and you do back onto the motorway. We stay in palm Beach, which is our timeshare, and i sometimes feel that we have to walk a bit of a way to get anywhere.

It is the apt olimpia on my map. Personally i think that there isn't much in this area, but maybe others may disagree. For me your stuck out on a limb if you want something a bit lively.

Again i'd either go for garden city/club olympus or santiago 1 or 2 area.

but you get what you pay for. And if you get fed up of walking you may end up spending cash on taxis, and you could have got better accommodation with this money.

Remember this is only my view.

TINERFE gardens

If you mean the hotel Gran Tinerfe it is near to the Bougainville hotel with the casino underneath. Not far from garden city just a bit closer to town down the hill.
Tinerfe Gardens are facing St Eugen's bar at the side of the Shopping Center

Chris,
You see, we really like staying in a quiet area with not much going on (we get a good night's sleep) and as we love walking, we don't mind doing so to get to the lively places.
When we stayed in PS1 years ago, we thought nothing of walking into Los Christianos.....even all the way to the market on a Sunday.
We also walked many a time up to Torviscas and to the market there too.
Still can't make up my mind though.........

right well i for 1 would forget playa olid, way to far out.

I'd go for the olympia then, if it gets good reviews, as it is in the middle of the 2 resorts 15 - 20 mins walk will take you to both resorts. well costa adeje and the area of bars like the strip (p d la paz) and the patch.

do let us know what you decide

That's the only prob, Chris, haven't seen any reviews for these, that's why I was asking if anybody knew them (after my initial mix up!!!)

Chris,
Think we're going to go for the Olympia after all.
Apparently we can get a 1 bed apt that has a sea view, so I daresay it won't be looking onto the motorway?? so less noisy!!!
