Also, sorry for my post being SO long.I originally flew out to Turkey on 17th July and returned home on 2nd August. As the weather was SO rubbish & I still had until the end of the school holidays off, I decided to fly out of East Midlands again on 8th August (yes I know this was only a week later!!
) As it was soon so after my first holiday and as I was going on my own, I booked my first ever DIY holiday. My mate had offered to fetch me from Dalaman to take me back to Marmaris but as Thomas Cook could book me a return transfer for less than £30 I decided to take this option. They said it was booked with a company called Yesil Dalyan Transfers, I thought this would be OK as I've seen them around the resort quite a lot. The documents also said look for the Hotels4U rep.
I arrived at the airport and had picked my suitcase up by about 5:15am, feeling like rubbish I walked out of the airport and was told by the Hotels4U rep to go to the desk and they would direct me to a shuttle transfer min-bus. At the desk they took my documents and scanned them, then wrote a name on the sheet and said I had to wait for about 15 minutes, they would shout when it was here. Many more people turned up from both my flight and others.
After waiting for 30 minutes and with no sign of any transport people were starting to get concerned, and were again asking what was happening. This continued for some time, one of the reps was extremly rude to a lady when all she had done was ask for an update on when it would be arriving, he was very aggressive. 30 minutes turned into an hour and so on.
Eventually after many customers were expressing there concerns, one man even threatened (and tried) to take their scanner and then take it with him (and his young family) in a taxi! Everyone by this time was very hot and tired.
After waiting for 2 hours the mini-buses turned up & we had to again get out documents checked, I found myself on a different coach to a family that had the same coach drivers name on it (I was praying that I was on the right on.). A lady came around teh coach to check we all belonged to that company and found some didn't, again an arguement ensued including the use of much foul language infront of everyone. We set off and eventually arrived in Marmaris, the mini-bus pulled over and waited to for about 10 minutes to pick up someone who know the town, it also pulled up a short time later to off-load some people into a car.
By the time I arrived at my hotel in Marmaris it was 9:30am, well over 4 hours after originally stepping outside of the airport.
Overall, my holiday was great however I will NEVER use this company again for transfers as they were too un-organised. This opinion is based on my personal experience and no doubt (thankfully) loads of people have had a good experience of this company. Anyway, back to the package deal next year.....47 weeks & counting
