Sorry if you have already booked to stay at this hotel, if you can change it i would suggest you do, and if you have not booked yet DONT stay here!
On arrival hotel looks quite nice, porters take luggage to rooms for you.
Rooms are basic, but fairly clean, but if you pull off sheets the mattresses are very stained. Bathroom dirty, shower wall covered in mould so is the shower curtain, and shower head covered in limescale, felt like you needed another shower afterwards.
Hot water available at all times.
Location good, close to most things.
Now for the worse bits, they charge 5 Lev's a day for the safe which for two weeks cost us

My wife and I stayed three weeks in Hotel Korona june 06, and her parents and another couple stayed for two weeks. This is is my fifty cents:
Staff and service:
We were met outside by a pollite and friendly portier who took care of our luggage. While cheking in, the staff at the hotel saw our wishes on the reservation: Pleas 1st floor facing the pool. We were asked to wait for a few minutes, and then showed to a room on the 1st floor, facing the pool. Perfect!!
Staff at the hotel were very friendly and pollite. Everyone from room maids, reception, bar-staff etc. always gave a smile and were friendly.
Rooms:
Not too large, but far away from small. Aircondition, Refridgerator, TV, hairdryer, large enough bathroom, good beds and clean rooms. The balcony was also in a normal standard size. Not big, but good enough for two-four people.
Maids made sure we got clean towels every day, and the room was always well cleaned.
Breakfast:
As they say in Bulgaria: Mnogo Dobre. That means very good. Bacon, eggs, toasters, two kind of juices, water, cereals, scrambelled eggs, ham, cheeses, sallads, sausages and you name it. Of course also coffe, Thea and cacao.
Pool area:
Nice poolbar and nice pool. Pool was cleaned twice a day, and always fresh. The only minus is the sunbeds. Not very comfortable.
Location:
This was my conserm before I left, but not anymore. Seems like the outside, but it takes you ten minutes to the flowerstreet if you walk. The mini-train leaves just around the corner and you got everything you need within 12,5 meters :)
Over all:
Its no luxuary hotel, but a fair good hotel. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Actually, I am pretty sure that my 6th visit to Bulgaria will be to Hotel Korona.

In total there were 13 people in our group that stayed at the hotel Korona.
On arrival reception area clean and tidy, rooms fairly clean but basic,towels and sheets changed fairly regularly.
Food was good with a wide choice.
Location was about 15 minutes from busy area so good if you don't like it to busy also only stones throw from beach but didn't go often as you had to pay for sunbeds and parasols even if there only 15-20 mins.
Hotel staff I found very unapproachable and miserable and same for most of chambermaids.
As far as entertainment goes there wasn't any and if you were to stay around hotel with children it would have boring.
Personally I wouldn't stay at this hotel again oh and by the way check your towels as they like to charge for towels you don't get and make sure you use the safes

We would definitely visit this hotel again and again the only problem we found was the moody staff, especially receptionists!!!
The breakfast looked a bit bare in the mornings too, not much of a choice.

I stayed in the hotel Korona with my boyfriend and his family.
The hotel is about a ten-fifteen min walk to the centre of the resort, we liked this as we weren't directly in the hustle and bustle of the centre. Having said that though there are plenty amount of shops and bars near the hotel and the hotel bar is open 24 hours.
I cannot comment on the food as I never ate there, it was so cheap to eat out. From what I can gather though the food looked quite nice.
The hotel is very clean and hotel staff very friendly, no complaints there at all.
The swimming pool is quite big with a pool bar and a large kids pool which will almost certainly keep your children entertained for a while. The pool was also very clean. The pool area is also quite large and we never struggled to find a sun lounger.
Overall I would recommend the Korona to anyone wishing to visit Bulgaria.

The breakfast was very good, had a good variety I always had cereal and toast in the morning.
The rooms in the hotel were cleaned every day. Our rooms had fridge air conditioning hair drier.There are mosquito doors and double glazing great at night no noise.
The hotel is at the south side went to the centre a few times but we were happy to stay at the south side most nights with lots to do.
The hotel staff were very nice.
There is no entertainment at this hotel but this was not a problem as there is so much to do elsewhere.

Hotel was excellent, very clean and the staff & maids were very friendly, never any noise to disturb your nights as the rooms are fully double glazed.
Breakfast nice but boring after a while but plenty of choice. Note that theres always a race for the toasters that are very slow, requires about 6 goes to get toast to change colour!!!
Pool is nice with a good bar daytimes. No entertainment in hotel other than the bar downstairs which is open 24 hours, hotel was within walking distance to the main part of sunny beach and the train stops just around the corner and costs 2 levs into the town.
Plenty to do around the hotel though. 2 mins walk from the beach.

We arrived at the Korona about 2.30am. Receptionist very helpful, porter to carry cases to our rooms. First thing we noticed was corridors and hotel room carpeted so noise to a minimum at that time of night.
Room was very spacious, air conditioning (although not brilliant but okay), satellite TV, fridge, good shower with hot water for the full 14 days we were there and balcony. We did not overlook the pool area, so the sun came into our room first thing in the morning. Curtains could have done with being a bit darker or a lining as it was very bright by 6.00am, but sun moved from our room by midday, so no heat coming into our room all afternoon, which made it comfortable for sleeping.
Breakfast was very good, massive selection for all nationalities, including spaghetti, fresh fruit salad, ordinary salad, eggs and bacon (though not that hot), sausages (not English), hard boiled eggs, cream cakes and chocolate croissants, cereal, toast, yoghut, honey, jam, rice pudding. Everything you could possibly think of really.
Pool was nice, not too big, swim up bar. Pool bar was reasonably priced, CD's not brilliant, kept skipping and not a very wide selection of CD's.
All in all, we found the Hotel very bright, spacious and certainly adequate for our needs. Would visit this Hotel again.
One point to note, Balkan Holidays classed it as 3*+, but on the side outside, it said 4*.

The hotel is spotless we found the staff friendly and our chambermaid was brilliant. Our room was always kept clean and tidy. We had clean sheets and pillow cases every 3 days and towels daily. Twin beds which could be pushed together.TV and fridge. Table and chairs in the room.Balcony with table and chairs.Clothes drier on the balcony.For a couple there was adequate stowage. Red hot water every day and a powerful shower.Room and landings carpeted which kept out any noise.The breakfast was laid out beautifully with a choice of a vast cold buffet including fresh fruit,cereals. hot plates with fried/scrambled eggs,sausage meats etc. (my only adverse comment they could have been hotter)! This was our first time in Bulgaria and Im glad we chose this hotel. We would definately come again to the korona. We flew from Humberside airport the flying time was supposed to be 3 hours 50 mins we arrived in 2 hours 30 mins - one heck of a tail wind. Both outward and inward flights on time.

would recommend b&b only in this hotel as i didnt think thier food was up to much.rooms nice but are new maids cleen everyday but you have to ask for change of towls as we only had ours changed twice in a fortnight. location of hotel very good .bar staff very friendly other staff not so helpful would advise only to use glass elevator as other one breaks down all the time.entertainment nil
