Opening the door to our room I felt my face drop to the floor as I looked at a very cramped and dingy looking room with adjoining en-suite with chipped broken mildewed tiles. Tripping over the ripped lino and squeezing past my husband I went to have a look out on to the balcony. The hotel is quite small with three floors. We were lucky because we had the beach side. The other side looks out onto a railway track and the street. The trains come about every 30 minutes at least and you can hear them from the beachside as well but not too loud. Downside of facing the beach is that the

When dropped off tour bus you have to carry luggage through underpass about 100yrd from hotel.

The food is very bland, entertainment very poor. Three of our party were bitten badly as there was an infestation of mosquitoes.

The food staff were nice-but the bar staff were the exact opposite. We used the entertainment outside which was very good. The lights were put out at 12pm, even the balcony lights were controlled by staff!!.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I had checked this site before we visited the hotel and was worried about the food. The location sounded excellent.

However the holiday was relatively inexpensive for all in and I was aware after receiving the tickets that we were travelling with Ryanair. Therefore I checked things like baggage allowances. Most holiday companies now have dropped to 15 kilos anyway. The hand baggage allowance is 10kilos. So if you do need to take extra then pack with it in mind that you just need to transfer some of your normal suitcase luggage to your hand luggage. That having been said Fleetway did not really advise of this.

The hotel was reported as being clean and out beds were made up every day. However the sink was not cleaned until I moved some of the toiletry items away from it as a helpful hint.

The air condition thing is really annoying and it did seem that it was just a way for the hotel to keep its electricity bills down.

Also on check in the reports about friendly staff seemed to be going well until the phone rang and we were dropped like flies and left standing for 15 mins whilst receptionist was on the phone.

The safe in the room is a must for us but was disappointed to be charged to use it. After all - It was there anyway. Another money thing?

The food was as we expected having visited this site before we went. Although it was not to our taste it was all edible but the chips did help to pad out the meal!! After a day or too I did start to fell like I was turning into a chip though!!! The snacks for all inclusive guests are a joke, what made it worse though is how serious the staff were about it. The two drinks thing was also daft as when the child in my party stepped more than five feet from me they would not allow him to have and carry a drink and made me go back to the bar a second time as I had had my quota.

The lights going out at 12 was annoying but understandable. People could have sat there making noise all night but for the folks who wanted to get some sleep if you were facing the social area it could have been very noisy so cant please everyone.

If you are clever (and I was) visit the bar a few time before closing and stock up on free drinks. But be aware that if you want to sit on the balcony to eat them the lights there are controlled by the same master switch!!!

The plastic glasses were not a big deal as I would rather drink from them than have broken glass in my feet. But the drips that come from them are the problem. Beer mats would be good to absorb some moisture as drips on the clothes became irritating.

The location is great if you are a beach fan. If you are not then the hotel does not have enough sunbeds. Although if you take something to lie on then folks always seemed to find a place on the grass to relax. No Sun umbrellas are a problem. For example the child in our party wanted to play in the pool all day but this involved one of us adults having to sit in the roasting heat to keep an eye on him. Getting into the pool could have been an option but as the place had lost of families the pool did tend to be a kids domain. Good pool for them though apart from the steep slope.

The staff were mixed, some of the barmen were arrogant and kept shaking the tips box when you went to the bar, as this was all in I tended to not carry money to bar with me (it was not necessary). This begging came across as rude and also made me feel unwelcome at times. Another barman was very friendly and another was very rude. The other one we say was somewhere in between. At one point a child went into the bar and helped himself (he was clearly something like the bosses son). I found this worrying that he was given more respect than the holidaymakers.

The girls that ran the so called entertainment were very poor and spent a lot of time moaning in front of guests. The kids entertainment was just a joke and the daily disco was the same every night. This could have been ok for kids as it would have meant by the end of the holiday they knew the "macarena" but the girls had no energy and were completely lifeless talking to each other whilst they faffed their way through another chorus of whigfields "Saturday night".

When it came to adult time it was so bad that I would be wasting my energy to comment, however I must mention the quiz where even they got the answers wrong but thought they were right. The British girl could speak Spanish which she persisted to show off.

I must mention the train track, the social area of the hotel is going to create noise on one side (hence the lights going out). The trains create noise on the other, I opted for the sexy ear plugs and generally slept well!
Despite the negative comments which are so much easier to remember than positive comments, I actually would go back here.

We paid for a cheap holiday and got that. We never actually went hungry and there was always a good measure available at the bar. There were pubs across the road and although it was not ideal the underpass was necessary to access the hotel. (The train track is not really the fault of the hotel).

We did not actually do much but relax on holiday and a walk to the shops or the older part of town kept us busy and if this is what you are looking to do then great go for it.

Food - fine, room - fine, staff - fine, everything fine. Nothing special. A week in the sun.

There was a mix of people there. Mostly friendly so thanks to them we had a good time. (Vic, Janis, Jake and Don, Paul and Felicia. Neil and Maureen) Other folks too. Friendly place.

Interestingly I heard lots of folks complain, but it never stopped them from taking advantage of the place. Seemed to me like they have to cost cut somewhere (electricity etc) as the price we paid for what we got was fair.

My job takes me to 5* hotels in the USA every week, I could be snobbish about the place. But at the end of the day the hotel is just fine.

As a couple we were looking for a relaxing holiday, and we found it in Hotel Amaraigua.

Our board basis was all inclusive what more could we have asked for the food was amazing. The standard was very high, a great selection of different foods to suit all we enjoyed the breakfast and the fresh fruit especially. Although the lunches and dinners were great also.

The location of the hotel couldnt have been better. Out the back you step right onto the beach and out the front you are right on the main street, noise was never a problem either.

We had a slight problem with our toilet but the staff soon found a resoloution to that, we were immediatley transferred to a better room the staff are very friendly and couldnt do enough for us. They obviously have had loads of experience with the public.

Entertainment wasnt bad, it was relaxing for us/ There was something different on each night but if it didnt suit you on the night then you are right on the main street plenty of other bars and different things to do.

I have booked my holiday for a family wedding in Cyprus this year and I can assure you if it wasnt for the wedding I would definitely have gone back to this hotel.

I have two children and its a place I would take them also for a great holiday.

Just back after spending a week all inclusive, hotel clean enough.

Food! well if you like chips you will be okay. For all inclusive there were no snacks available after 18.30pm, not much of a salad selection either, snacks that were available during the day were chips, deep fried hotdogs, and pizza so if you have colestrol problems give it a miss.

Looking ideal as it is on the beach not far from the station.

Staff pleasant enough but the entertainment is none existent.

Our room number 17, boiling water comes through the toilet constantly, was reported but not fixed an accident waiting to happen, so be warned...

The only good comment I could give is the hotel is clean.

The rooms were small. They only gave you one key that is attached to another key that is required for the electricity to work.(The problem being you could not have the power on and lock the door at the same time...this was a problem at night)

The entire hotel was tiled which made it clean, but extremely noisy. The walls were paper thin (I could hear the man in the room next to mine snoring all night)

The worst part of this hotel was the food. If that is what you want to call it. You could not tell what each dish was. If you like chips your all set. Most of the days the meat was undercooked and the veggies were over cooked. The only thing worth eating was the chips. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Thank God for one of the pubs down the road (Robin Hood pub- they took great care of us- they had great food, great drinks and awesome staff- who were very accommodating!)

- We are from the US and our standards are a bit higher than those of this part of Spain.

We have just returned from one week's all inclusive holiday at hotel amaraigua. The room was basic but comfortable and all importantly clean and clean towels every day. The air conditioning wasn't working and when this was reported at reception was sorted almost immediately. With this being a smaller hotel there was no queuing up at mealtimes for making toast etc. There was also a smaller choice of food but everything was well presented and enjoyable. On the whole we had an excellent value for money holiday. The only negative aspect was the limited entertainment - certainly nothing laid on for families with kids.
