"Good base for Istanbul"
Fred Willetts visited the Grand Hotel Halic in May 2012
We were on a tour of Turkey and started and finished at this hotel. Room was fine for a few days and only had breakfast there which was fine. Staff helpful and tried to please.

We found the position very good but on a bit of a hill. Bus stop not far away and the hop on hop off tourist bus stopped there. I think also the underground station not far.
The bit we liked was about 5/10 minutes stroll uphill there is a very vibrant street with lots of cafes and restaurants and buskers. This had Christmas lights on in May/June. Looks down on the golden rod. Busy road outside but they have a crossing.
