First time cruiser - I boarded the Thomson Dream on 29th June from Palma had a lovely outside plus cabin on deck 5. Only bad point was the where the toilet is placed. All the ship crew were brilliant friendly we normally ate in the restaurant on deck 4, our waiters were really good. I wouldn't say its a platinum more 3 star but overall would do it all again.

Drinks are all the proper brands inc spirits lager etc must try the cocktails .

Having been on plusher ships, we were a bit worried about the Thompson Dream.

Arrived at the port and had too wait on the coach for 20 minutes as the checking was very busy. The ship is not as good as other ships I have been on, I was disappointed that I had to keep asking for pool towels as they were never left in my room. There was no towel animals left on the bed at night which would have been a lovely surprise for my son. Other ships do this every evening at turn down.

The food was ok but best to eat in the main restaurant down on 4. I would not recommend if you are disabled or in a wheel chair. The pool is ok but the steps are very steep and difficult to get in and out. There is no hoist or flat part you can get in which I thought was bad for this day and age. If you come out of doors to get to the decking there is high steps so its a no no for wheel chair users.

Positive things are shows are good, crew are lovely, lots of different areas to go for entertainment. Went to some nice ports.

This was our first cruise on the Dream, having sailed on Celebration in 2011 and 2012 and Island Escape in 2013. We were recognized and called by first names by staff who had previously been on Celebration, which was nice.Thought the Platinum Rating however is a bit "over the top" as Celebration, before her up-grade was just as good so look forward to cruising with her again to compare!!!

Enjoyed Dream anyway.

Thomson Dream not for me

Just came back from a two week cruise a week ago on the Thomson Dream around the Mediterranean. No way was it a dream suppose to be a platinum ship that's a joke, Paid for my friend and myself £4000.50 and that was without a drinks package if I had have paid for that it would have been £800 extra but refused to pay for that far too much money.

Well the first thing was my bath was filthy have footage of this... the next thing was the food it was ok but not what I was expectation as I was told it would be excellent food.. no way was it and also was only warm had to ask food to be heated many a time now that's not good ..swimming pool to small so nobody used it.. not enough deck chairs for 1600 passengers...ice cream did not taste like ice cream should.. I could go and on about this ship. now what I want to say is I will never go on a Thomson ship again never.. I have been on two Cruise before and they were excellent everything was just as I was told it would be.... But one thing I want to say about the crew and the staff on the Thomson dream they were excellent

2nd cruise with Thomson

Just got back from a weeks cruise on the Thomson Dream in the Med and can't praise it enough, we sailed on the Island Escape in 2004 and thought that was good too.

All of the staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. The food was fantastic and lots of choice. We read some terrible reviews on the Dream before we went but everyone we spoke to who had been on it couldn't praise it enough.

It's a slightly tired ship but spotless and couldn't fault it our cabin was bigger than expected.

We left it in Palma where it was spending a week in dock and then being spruced up .

We wouldn't hesitate in booking again on the Dream.

This was our 1st cruise we went on the western Mediterranean on the Thomson dream, what a lovely ship!

We were a bit worried before we went on this as we read some very bad reviews, however how wrong these reviews were proved to be! Absolutely fantastic time!
The staff were amazing they worked very hard and always had a smile and said hello.

Our room steward was wonderful she brightened up your morning with a lovely hello and a smile always making sure we were ok and if we needed anything. The cabin was absolutely spotless everywhere the same can be said throughout the whole ship someone always cleaning.

The food was amazing such a wide choice and all freshly made the excursions were a little expensive but are worth going on the entertainment was excellent not always to our taste but very professionally done.

The ship itself is old fashioned but this is what makes the ship so special overall a fantastic cruise very well organised so all I can say to everyone is don’t be put off by bad reviews as it is very different when you get there.
I would recommend this ship and cruise to anyone

It was our first cruise, it may well be our last. We found this 2 week trip to The West Indies at nearly half price so grabbed it, bad mistake!

We flew to Lisbon for boarding and went on board at 12 noon, we got off at 7pm, the atmosphere was not good for us. The whole ship is cramped and the cabin, which was nothing like the one shown in the brochure was smaller than my bathroom. It would have been impossible for two people to get dressed at the same time, unless one did it in the bathroom or stood on the bed!

The cost of drink on board was horrendous, in fact if we had stayed on for the full 2 weeks we would have spent more than staying a night in Lisbon, flying back to UK with BA and then getting a good last minute deal to Tunisia 2 days later.

Six days at sea with not a lot to do, in this cramped uncomfortable environment was too much, so we cut our losses and ran. I still have nightmares, I have never wanted to get out of anywhere like I did this. It might suit some people, it did not suit us!

Our first cruise though we had stayed in Cala Bona first week on arriving at the Palma all i can say the boarding was excellent.on unpacking our cases we went to the Lido resturant i was appalled it was just like a motorway cafe on a busy day.I was going Hi de Hi ho de Ho.Though after the first 24 hours things started to settle down For evening meal we then started using the Orion resturant this is waiter service you would be seated on arrival to the dining room thus you met many new people it was Brill,The service we received in the all the Bars was excellent we where on a all inclusive drink package @£49.95 each we had our share. The ship was spotless and our cabin maid was brill nothing was too much trouble would we go again YES we have already booked for september 2012
