Atlantida Apartments
Wanted to post a urgent word of warning to anyone going or thinking of going here !! My brother arrived yesterday morning to find they have been dumped in a ghost town. They is only one other family there in the whole place as it is being renovated , it has 220 apts but currently have opened just 26 of them - funny that only their party and one other there tho!! The other available rooms are empty and are apparently staying that way. They are a party of 9 taking up 2 apartments ( 4 adults 5 kids )
The facilities they booked for are not available - no kids zone club or kids soft playroom - this is also being done up, or it seems any proper organised activies as advertised. Obviously this was all-important with 5 kids! Last night they were watching the singer/entertainer on their own and he said he wasn't likely to be paid ! What a farce ! Even if the night entertainer's turn up what fun are games and quizes with no competitors!
I will speak to him again today , not sure about the restaurants/ cafe etc on the complex - surely would not have full facilies available for just a dozen customers.
They are really upset and intent to contact the rep ( only available by phone with Thomsons) today, she let them on the bus unaccompanied and never said a word. They are also concerned for safety, not nice to wander round a ghost town of a hotel on your own with not another sole in site. The kids are already fed up with each other and not likely to meet new mates. The worry is with their party of 9 they could be difficult to rehome - maybe thomson knew this already and didn't bother, why else has everyone else gone ?
I'm sure with something like this they should have been warned in advance with the option to change or refund, but..... although all this is bad enough what worries me most is I've been on the Thomson site this morning and they are still booking
- I can get out there friday, all the facilities listed, video of kids soft room, photos of kids zone etc etc . I would be gutted to book now when they know the situation out there how can they get away with that !!! Aghrrrrr !!Sorry to rant but hope someone is forewarned and maybe someone has advice?
