I like this site for free downloads, currently you can only get ePub but they are easily converted to .mobi if you use calibre. No redirections to download sites and you can open them instantly in IBooks etc. I did read that there going to start offering .mobi downloads.

Works well on 3G too I often browse and download to my phone on the metro to work

I've also sent you by separate email - hot off the press tonight of the very latest JK Rowling (The Casual Vacancy). I've never read any of her books as I'm not a Harry Potter fan but this one is supposed to be for adults.

Goa should ban the Kindle,now that would be a really good idea

I haven't had to buy a book for years as there are normally so many top sellers left behind in beach shacks and restaurants that I get spoilt for choice but the Kindle is going to mess that up, after all I am only a poor pensioner

Oh I think books will still be around for a long time to come yet.....
Wouldn't mind another trip back to Goa sometime too!

have to say that i always seem to be one of the only ones with a kindle relaxing round a pool so you might be safe for a long time yet.
I think kindles are ideal for holidays. My books used to take up quite a lot of the luggage allowance. However, ever since my holiday in Goa with no luggage, I have packed a lot less so the weight issue isn't the clincher for me. Its the fact that my book spines used to always melt in the sun and i kept losing pages. I think I have over 100 books on my kindle. I know that i will delete some as I read the first few chapters though

It is easy to tell Chilly's old books they have chocolate wrappers for book marks but It must be your old books I keep coming across Fiona, the ones with the last chapter missing

no- they are not mine! My chapters just rip out once I've read them
