The nearest designated naturist beaches are north of Alicante. These are mostly rocky but there are a few coves. Look out for the signs for Cabo de las Huertas on the coast road.

Although there is pressure to change things here, almost all beaches are ‘clothing optional'. It is not an offence to be naked on any beach in this particular part of the costa (although laws have been changed elsewhere), but most naturists keep to areas away from the usual crowds.

The best naturist beach to Alicante city is a twenty minute drive south just before the town of Guardamar del Segura.
Post back if you want directions.

Hi Oly daze,

We heard about the beach south of Alicante, close to the airport "arenales del sol" should be okay. Lot of dunes and sandy.
We are more for the sand dunes instead of the stone beaches north.
Our biggest problem is, we don´t have a car, so we will use taxi because the tram is not in that direction.
What about further north, is where no other sandy naturist beaches here ? Because we could take the tram direction Bernidom

Please help.

The nearest naturist beach to Alicante airport is Playa del Carabasi which is between Los Arenales del Sol and Gran Alacant. Park in the car park at the foot of the steep hill to Gran Alacant and once on the beach turn right towards Santa Pola, this is the 'free beach' section.

Spelling error - Arenales not Arenalea

As you may have already found, most designated naturist beaches are quite isolated. Therefore you are probably not going to get trams or buses stopping nearby.

AHV has given directions to the nearest sandy beach, and if you are not driving then a taxi would be your only option to reach it.

North of Alicante including La Vila Joiosa there are some small rocky coves, but again, these are away from the usual transport routes.

Why not do as many others do? Find a quite area on the closest beach to sunbathe.
If that makes you uncomfortable you can always enjoy a more conventional ‘textile' holiday.

Because we live in scandinavia and really looks forward to some sunny days, and when we have the possibility, we always sunbath naked.
Therefore we also a willing to pay the taxi for a trip to a sandy beach. Is the Playa del Carabasi popular and will we find sandy dunes?

I'm you grateful.

It depends on what time of year you go as to how busy it will be. The free beach adjoins the main part of Playa del Carabasi which at the moment is very busy. It will quieten down from mid September. Expect to find people walking by the sea whilst you sunbathe.
